*Calvin's POV*
So far, I have gone through this summer not feeling completely numb, but still feeling it.
Now, Tucker, Lane and Colt, they don't get along, but they've made it a point to try for me and I appreciate them so much for it.
Ricky, he gets along with everyone.
Shay has been a god send when it comes to Brayden since she's closer to his age, and I have never been more grateful for my best friends little sister.
Daily phone calls from Delilah has helped so much.
And even though I didn't think it was possible, I'm closer with my dad than ever before.
He meant it when he said he was sending me on vacation with the Gordons, and I love him so much for it.
I really really needed it and I had such a great time.
And now here we are, on the beach with Ricky, Colt, Lane and Tucker back in beautiful St. Augustine, and the look on Colts face is all too telling.
"So Cal, how exactly was vacation." He choked back a laugh with a small smile.
I took a deep breath and looked at Tucker. "You didn't."
"I had to." He nodded and laughed. "I couldn't not tell them!"
"Give is the details, please." Lane laughed.
"It wasn't planned." I shook my head.
"Clearly Cal, she was stranger." Ricky laughed.
"And 17." Tucker laughed.
"I thought she was 15! She looked 15."
"Dude, you're 13." Lane nodded.
"Ok, we didn't ask about ages, or even names, until after. Then she told me after that I was a decent size for being 16 and I was like wait a second, no. She had like, a panic attack, I made it clear that we were literally never going to see each other again, and then we got to it once more and this bitch walks in while I'm mid stroke." I motioned toward Tucker.
"Well pardon me for coming back to OUR room, in which I did not expect you to be fucking some random girl!" He laughed. "Again, we're 13."
"Can I ask like, why though?" Ricky pursed his lips.
"The truth?"
They all nodded.
"It felt good to feel something other than sad." I nodded.
They all sighed and Tucker put his arm around me. "Greif makes you do weird things." He nodded.
"What's it make you do?" Colt looked at him.
"Dude, I can quote books off dome, because I have to read to keep nightmares away."
"Give us one. Any book." Ricky smiled.
"Uh." Tucker cleared his throat. "That's the thing about girls. Every time they do something pretty, even if they're not much to look at, or even if they're sort of stupid, you fall in love with them and then you never know where the hell you are. Girls. Jesus Christ. They can drive you crazy. They really can."
"What's that from?" I scrunched my face.
"Catcher in the Rye." Lane nodded. "J.D. Salinger."
Tucker pointed at him.
"How in the fuck aren't you two friends?" I shook my head.
"Just don't mesh well." Tucker shrugged. "But, we can be civil."
