Our Journey

Today was my first day at my new job. I even moved to a new house for this job, but I was almost late for my first day. Fortunately, God still gave me the opportunity to take the train. I got a professional and cool coworker, her name was Miyuki. She took me around the building. As we were walking around, I accidentally met and greeted my childhood friend, Yoru. I decided to have dinner with her after work.

Six months have passed since I started working here. Nothing special. It's just that Yoru and I have become closer. It wasn't uncommon for us to help each other out. Once, Yoru invited me to go out for dinner after work. It was the first time in my life that Yoru had asked me first. Of course, I happily accepted his invitation, which is a rare thing.

After work, we decided to eat at our usual cafe. That night, the traffic was unusually busy. We walked down the dark and crowded street. The noise of passing vehicles filled the silence between the two of us. For some reason, my mind felt empty tonight. Maybe it's because of Yoru's actions this afternoon, I thought. Just as we were about to cross the street, I was completely unaware that the traffic light had turned green. The group of vehicles that were lined up neatly were now traveling at high speed. I reflexively turned my head to my right side, which was filled with the sight of a truck.

Half-awake, I heard the sound. The sound of people surrounding me, the sound of an ambulance heading this way, and of course, the sound of Yoru trying to resuscitate me. The warmth of Yoru's hand that was holding mine managed to calm me down a little, as if he was saying "I'm here, don't worry." I don't know how I am right now, I don't care. My mind is currently filled with memories of my time with Yoru as a child. I'm completely lost in my thoughts right now, until I don't realize that the words "It's a wrap!" have been uttered from the lips of a director on duty.
