"It'll be fine, Izuku," Katsuki soothes, rubbing circles on Izuku's back in a calming manner. Izuku shakes in his skin, nervously biting at his bottom lip. "What if they don't support us, Kacchan?" Izuku mutters, fumbling with his hands as Katsuki helps him walk up to the front of the Bakugo's household.
The porch lights are on, curtains opened wide to let natural light through. You can see into the house - Katsuki's mother and Izuku's mother talking whilst Katsuki's father seems to be putting food on the table.
Katsuki lets out a breath, "Take a deep breath for me, Izuku." Izuku gulps, but nods. He takes a deep breath as Katsuki instructed him to do. Katsuki continues to try and soothe Izuku, while Izuku counts to ten in his head, and takes measured deep breaths.
Izuku takes one final deep breath. "Okay, I'm ready," Izuku nods, brows pinched together in determination. Katsuki smiles, nodding alongside Izuku. Katsuki and Izuku walk up to the front door, Katsuki immediately banging instead of knocking on the door.
The door swings open. "Don't bang on my door like that, you brat!" Mitsuki hisses, slapping Katsuki on the back of the head. Katsuki shouts in dismay, flinging his arms around frantically to get his mother to back off. "Fuck off, old hag!" Katsuki growls. Izuku has to hold back a laugh. "Okay, break it up you two," Masaru chuckles, tugging at his wife to come back in. Katsuki grumbles in annoyance as his mother huffs and walks back into the kitchen with Masaru.
Inko flashes Katsuki a wide smile with teary eyes, "Oh, Katsuki! It's been so long, look at how you've grown!" Inko cries, opening her arms wide, and pulling Katsuki into a bone-crushing hug. Katsuki holds back a hiss as he tries to hug Inko back.
Looks like Izuku and his mom have more in common, Katsuki thought.
Izuku chuckled nervously, mouthing 'sorry' at Katsuki. Katsuki shakes his head, giving a barely visible thumbs up to Izuku to signal that he's fine.
"Inko! Don't kill my kid!" Mitsuki shouts from the kitchen, laughing loudly as Masaru just runs a hand down his face with a groan. Inko huffs, rolling her eyes to herself, but complies anyway. Katsuki clears his throat as Inko breaks the hug, and steps back, "It's good to see you too, Inko," Katsuki nods with a small smile. Izuku looks at Katsuki in awe. Seeing Katsuki's smile was rare. Even Izuku has only seen it a handful of times, and he's Katsuki's boyfriend for crying out loud!
"I assume Izuku hasn't given you any trouble lately?" Inko asks, eyeing Izuku out of the corner of her eye. Izuku groans, "Mom!" Katsuki doesn't even try to hold back a laugh, "No, he hasn't given me any trouble." Katsuki smirks, throwing a wink towards Izuku. It makes Izuku turn red.
"Okay - who's ready for dinner?" Masaru says, holding up a large dish of Teriyaki before placing it in the middle of the dining table.
Inko makes a noise of awe - Katsuki snorts as Izuku mumbles under his breath, gently nudging Katsuki with his elbow.
-----
They easily fall into conversation - topics such as hero training and internships are spoken about. Of course, Izuku being the one to talk the most, while Katsuki just listened to him with a fond smile. Katsuki contributed to the conversation, of course, saying some stuff about a new quirk move he's been working on - and how he and Kirishima have been training together on the weekends.
Halfway through dinner, the conversation shifts when Inko asks the both of them a question. "Have either of you two found someone to call your own?" Inko asks with curiosity, raising a brow as she took a bite of the nicely made rice ball. Izuku stiffens slightly, as Katsuki flicks his eyes over to Izuku instantly. Izuku and Katsuki lock eyes. It's quiet for a good while, both teenagers mentally debating whether they should tell them now.
Katsuki is the one to break eye contact. "We - uh - actually wanted to talk to you about that," Katsuki says, placing his silverware down and clearing his throat. Inko cocks a brow, Mitsuki and Masaru doing the same out of curiosity. Izuku bites his bottom lip nervously. They agreed beforehand that Katsuki should do the talking, because if Izuku were to be the one doing the talking, they would literally get no where.
Katsuki takes hold of Izuku's hand, making Inko gasp, and Mitsuki spit out her drink into her glass. "Me and Izuku are dating," Katsuki declares with a strained voice. Masaru brows shoot up high, as Mitsuki wipes wine off of herself. "I'm - uhm, gay," Katsuki stutters, his cheeks flaring up, "And Izuku is bisexual." Izuku looks up hesitantly, nodding along with up Katsuki had just said.
The room is dead silent. Inko's jaw has dropped to the floor, whilst Mitsuki just stares at the two with wide eyes.
In a blink of an eye, Inko shoots up from her seat, knocking the wooden chair back onto the floor. Katsuki and Izuku both startles, and look up at Inko.
Oh god oh god ohgodohgo-
"You owe me ten thousand yen, Mitsuki!" Inko shouts, pointing at Mitsuki with a fierce grin. Mitsuki curses loudly as Masaru sighs. “Damnit!” Mitsuki shouts with a groan. Mitsuki digs out her wallet from her pocket, taking out exactly ten thousand yen, and begrudgingly handing it to Inko with grumbled curses.
Izuku and Katsuki blink, staring at the two with more than confused looks.
“What the hell just happened?” Katsuki asks slowly, watching as Mitsuki plops back in her seat, and crosses her arms over her chest. She looks like she’s pouting like a child. Masaru lets out another sigh, “Your mother, and Izuku’s mother - have been betting when you guys will get together,” Masaru explains, poking at his food with a food. Mitsuki pouts, “Yeah, and I thought you guys would at least take another year to get together, but I guess I was wrong!”
Both Izuku’s and Katsuki’s brain short circuit. Izuku sputters, “W-What?” Katsuki looks down at his plate of food, glaring at it. “F-For how long?” Izuku asks, his brain not functioning properly. Mitsuki thinks for a moment, “Since the dormitories were assigned,” Mitsuki says casually.
Inko’s still counting the amount of money she just won as Katsuki chokes on the air. Izuku literally shouts at the top of his lungs, “What?!”
Mitsuki shrugs, “It might’ve been longer, I don’t know - Inko, stop counting the money for a damn second, how long has this bet been going on?”
This bet?
Inko halts in her money counting, looking up at Mitsuki. Inko pinches her brows together, thinking. “Hm, I believe after the attack on USJ,” Inko says with a confident nod. Izuku’s jaw drops to the floor. Katsuki lets out a heavy sigh, “Oh my god, this is unbelievable,” Katsuki mumbles, massaging his temple. Mitsuki and Inko giggle together.
“But, in all seriousness,” Inko says, her gaze softening, “We’re happy for you two.” Inko smiles at the two, her eyes crinkling slightly. Mitsuki nods, “Yeah, I’m happy for you, brat,” Mitsuki says with a grin, kicking Katsuki’s foot under the table. Katsuki gives another one of those rare smiles of his to both Inko and Mitsuki. Masaru smiles from beside Mitsuki.
The tension in the room has cleared completely, everything going back to its original nature. Izuku smiles wide at his mom and Katsuki’s parents with teary eyes while Katsuki just chuckles at him.
But something crosses Izuku’s mind. “Hey, you guys said “this bet”. Do you possibly have…other bets going on?” Izuku asks while staring between his mom and Mitsuki. Katsuki pauses, and looks at Izuku. He was wondering the same thing.
Inko and Mitsuki slowly look at each other. Mitsuki tried to hold back a laugh, while Inko puts her head in her hands.
Then Mitsuki said “Yup! The other one going on right now is which one of you will take the other’s virginity first.”
Izuku goes completely red as he squeals and covers his face.
Katsuki’s face goes a deep red, “Mom, what the hell!”
