SEEING AS STELLA HAD been out of commission due to the flu, and Oscar had had to put the plan on halt for a few weeks, he decided two steps in one weekend would be acceptable. Besides, Oscar really wanted to get the next few steps out of the way. Trying to make Stella jealous and then ghosting her for a week was not something he was looking forward to. Best to get it done with as soon as possible.

Once Stella agreed (after much badgering from Logan) to go clubbing after their helicopter excursion, Oscar decided it was the night. Sure, two steps of the plan in one night was a little risky, but he didn't really know when him and Stella would be in a club together again, considering her aversion to them, and that was the easiest place to make her jealous. All Oscar would have to do was buy another girl a drink and chat her up in front of Stella. Hopefully that would be enough.

Of course, he didn't know if any step of the plan had been working, or if Stella would get even remotely jealous, but Oscar was going to keep on trying. He was pretty hopeful. He didn't know if it was him being delusional (which very well could have been the case), but he was almost sure he could feel a shift between him and Stella. He couldn't place a finger on precisely what it was, but it was there.

After Stella finally arrived in the lobby, having taken ages to get ready, the friend group (minus Addie, who was busy with Uni) departed the hotel for the club Logan had selected for them. Oscar and Logan were dressed near identically, in shorts and polos. Stella wore a light yellow dress, that Oscar immediately clocked as the one she had bought because it reminded her of the one from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, only shorter. Oscar's heart had begun to beat at a worryingly fast pace the moment he had laid eyes on Stella (as it often did when he was in the girl's presence), and he'd had to force himself not to gawk at her in her dress.

When they reached the club, Logan was quick to tug Stella away towards the bar, shooting a wink over his shoulder at Oscar. Oscar got the message loud and clear. This was the moment.

While Logan and Stella fetched them drinks, Oscar decided to find the three of them a table to inhabit. Hopefully a table with a girl at it.

Oscar knew it was a bit villainous, flirting with a girl just to make Stella jealous, but he figured it couldn't hurt that much. The girl would get some free drinks out of the exchange, plus Oscar's undying gratitude. And they'd never have to see each other again. But still. Oscar felt a bit bad about it. He didn't want to be that kind of guy, the type that used girls. So he wouldn't be.

After a minute of searching, Oscar found the perfect table. There were two girls sitting there, one with some of the brightest red hair he'd ever seen and another with a shade of blonde a few shades darker than Stella's. They looked to be about his age, and looked to be perfectly friendly.

"Hey, mind if me and my friends join you guys?" Oscar approached the girls, feeling slightly out of place. He wasn't the type to really talk to new people, not if he didn't have to.

"Are these friends imaginary?" The redhead girl asked, peering behind Oscar, finding no one trailing after him.

"They're at the bar, getting drinks." Oscar explained, forcing himself not to seem awkward. "This place is pretty packed."

"Sure, you can join us." The blonde shrugged, seeming unbothered. "If you get us a drink."

"Thanks." Oscar smiled, taking a seat. "I'm Oscar, by the way."

"Nice to meet you Oscar." The redhead spoke. "I'm Amy, this is Ruby."

Oscar was silent for a moment, stealing himself, before he finally voiced what was on his mind. "Can I ask you guys a favor?"
