It is your birthday today. You are still dressed in yesterday's outfit. The only outfit you have. People say the are poor. Poverty is when you have nothing. Even a face cloth or spare underwear or anything.
The realization of this makes you seek to your gut. You can not believe the state you are in. 'It is just a dream I will wake up' you tell yourself.
You are not accepting the truth. Everything feels wrong.
Your mum arrived that morning. She hands you and Morgan second hand clothes she got. It is the second outfit you have as of now. No one deserves this, especially not a 9 years old kid on her birthday.
Can you ever imagine being poor poorish on your birthday at 9 let alone e wear second hand clothes from strangers? Perhaps it is right to conclude that life is not fair.
