Chapter 12

Engfa’s POV

I'm sitting in a little jail cell that they have in the precinct like the one on law and order. There's two other women and a guy in here too. They took the guy that I beat up to another room so we wouldn't be together.

My knuckles are killing me that guy had a hard jaw. I don't regret hitting him though. I wish I would have hit harder.

Now thinking back to it that's why Charlotte flinches when someone touches her unexpectedly. The second I heard him talk about beating her I just lost it and saw red. How dare he do that. Wait until I get out of here he will regret this till the day he dies.

My thoughts are interrupted when I hear the jail cell opening and Nathan pops his head in. Nathan is one of the officers here.

"Hey Fa, I heard you were here, what did you do now?" He says with a chuckle.

"Why are you making it sound like I'm here everyday." I say and also laugh. "Because I see you here way too often for my own good."

"Okay but you know that's not my fault I owe that to my dear father."

The precinct knows how me and my father don't get along. That man has me arrested every once in a while for stupid reasons like trespassing on his property even though he asked me to go there. He does it as a way to show me that he still has control over me.
He never does it around the same time so I never know when it's coming. The whole precinct knows who I am now.

"So what did you do?" He asks again. "I may or may not have hit someone, he deserved it though." I say. "I'm sure he did you always have a reason for doing something." I nod.

"Is Tina here I'm literally dying in here." Okay maybe I'm over exaggerating but my knuckles are killing me.

"No, it's like 12am give her time, she's gonna beat your ass up for waking her up this late."

"I've been in here for hours and please don't remind me I've been trying not to think about it."

"It's only been 30 minutes Engfa." He says and starts laughing.

"Same thing." I mumble.

"Alrighty, I have to go but I'll come get you as soon as Tina is here."

"Thank you" with that he opens the cell door and leaves and I'm back to thinking. What am I going to tell Charlotte, she wasn't scared of me before she definitely is now. I hope she's doing okay.

"So why did you beat the guy up?" One of the women in the cell asks. I'm debating on if I should even talk to her or not but since Tina is taking her sweet time and I'm bored I decided to answer her. "He did something to someone I care about." "And you thought beating him up was the right solution?" The women questions.

"It's the least he deserves, I would have been able to get more punches in if some stupid person hadn't called the cops." I say.

The cell goes back to being quiet but I break the silence.

"Why are you here?" I ask the women.

"My neighbour’s pet bird kept shitting on my front steps so I caught it today and cooked it." I look at her in horror.

"And I went and offered it to her as dinner without telling her it was her bird." She adds and shrugs.

Oh god Tina please hurry up. Okay but wait how can you event get arrested for that. I should ask Tina if that's even legal.

I hear the door again and pray that it's for me. Nathan walks in and gives me a look and I quickly stand up and walk out the door.

"Am I in a lot of trouble?" I ask Nathan.

"No Tina somehow got the guy not to press any charges."

"How dare he even think about it I should be the one pressing charges on him, that little piece of shit, I swea—"

Nathan quickly cuts me off. "If you do that your dad will know and do you really want that? plus you beat the guy up pretty bad there's no way you would win the case." He says and snickers.

"Thank you for the vote of confidence." I mumble.

He takes me to his desk and I sign about 20 freaking papers and then I round the corner and the first person my eyes land on is Charlotte. I frown, what is she doing here? Chompu and Nudee are sitting down next to her, by taking care of her I meant at her house or something.

She looks really tired and her eyes are puffy from crying. The state she's in breaks my heart. When I saw her crying at the club I wanted to kill that man for being the cause of it.

I blink to stop myself from staring. Then I look to her right and make eye contact with Tina.

Oh my god this is the day I'm gonna die. She looks calm and that's somehow worst. "Hey Tina my favorite dearest friend." I say as I approach them.

Charlotte quickly looks up and walks up to me and before I can comprehend what's happening she slaps me across the face. "Ouch that hurt." I say and rub my cheek.

"You scared me you son of a monkey." "Son of a monkey?" I question because what the heck does that even mean. I'm about to make another comment but she throws her arms around my neck and brings me into a hug.

You know how people say Disney land is the happiest place on earth? Well it's not. In the middle of a police precinct with dozens of cops walking around and my friends staring at us while smirking I realized that from this day on, the happiest place on earth for me would be being in her arms.

Gosh I'm whipped and we haven't even kissed yet.

I break out from my frozen state and wrap my arms around her and hug her tight.

"You're not mad at me?" I mumble in her hair. "No sweetheart I'm not." she whispers. Someone clearing their throat makes us break apart. I turn to see Tina. "Okay I can explain, I'm sorry for waki—" I get cut off by Tina also hugging me.

"Is this where you kill me, like stab me in my stomach while you're distracting me with a hug?" I question.

She just chuckles and shakes her head.

"Joe called Nudee and Chompu first and told them what happened and when they called me they told me everything." I turn my head while still hugging Tina to see Nudee and Chompu smiling at me. I open one of my arms for them to join the hug. They quickly run towards us and we group hug. We slowly pull away and Tina is the last one to do so.

Before she does though she leans in and whispers in my ear so only I can hear. "I'm proud of you Fa." She says and quickly backs up and turns around to talk to Nathan to make sure we have everything and we're good to leave.

"Where are Ethan and Heidi?" I question.

"Outside in the car Heidi was too cold to get out and Ethan stayed with her." Charlotte says and I nod.

"Did you talk to your parents and Olivia it's pretty late they might be worry." I ask.

"My dad came back from his business trip and took my mom and Olivia camping they won't be back until next week."

I'm about to say something but Chompu cuts me off.

"You guys should all come to Engfa’s house tonight." Chompu says and I look at her in shock.

Why is she inviting people to my house without my permission not that I mind but still.

"Yeah Engfa has extra rooms and we can all hangout and do whatever and maybe talk tomorrow about everything that happened." Nudee jumps in to the conversation .

"Umm I don't want to bother plus Heidi and Ethan are a lot to handle." Charlotte says with a chuckle.

"You guys won't be a bother, it would be fun." I say. She looks deep in though for a minute before she answers. "Sure yeah that would be great thank you." She answers and I can't help but smile.

On cue Tina comes back and we all get up to leave.

I really hope my place is decent, I'm nervous to have Charlotte see it for the first time. And we definitely need to talk about everything.
