Last night, Jennie nearly died in Lisa's arms.

However, since they had just collected their marriage certificate, she decided to let him have his way.

"Cousin, Miss Kim, come and have breakfast." Somi brought three plates of steaks out from the kitchen. There was also milk and bread prepared on the table. "I prepared breakfast myself. Come and have a taste."

She smiled kindly.

Jennie did not dare to eat Somi's food. She was worried that it was poisoned. Even if it was not poisoned, she wouldn't eat anything made by her.

Lisa frowned and instructed the staff. "Take it all away!"

"Understood." The helpers waiting by the side rushed to remove the dishes from the dining table.

Somi did not expect Lisa to not give her any face. A hint of humiliation appeared on her expression and she seemed to want to cry. "Cousin, I understand that you have mysophobia and that you won't have the food prepared by outsiders. But I wore a pair of gloves when I prepared breakfast and I paid special attention to hygiene."

Chongshan heard this from where he sat on the carved, red wood sofa. A hint of heartache flashed past his eyes. "Somi, I told you that Lisa won't eat your food and asked you not to be a busybody. You should have listened to me."

The helpers quickly served a new set of dishes. The kitchen had prepared minced meat porridge, bird's nest soup, sunny side-ups, French sandwiches...

Lisa was expressionless. He acted as though Somi was invisible while he tugged Jennie towards her seat.

"Cousin, I know that you don't like me, but I truly see you as family. I waited all morning for you and I haven't even had breakfast..." Somi's tears rolled down her cheeks.

Lisa's sharp gaze finally shifted onto her for a moment. He said ruthlessly, "No one asked you to wait. Stop looking for trouble."

She turned pale. To him, her grievance and requests for his favour were seen as attempts to look for trouble!

However, if she truly did as he said, she wouldn't even have the opportunity to appear before his eyes!

Jennie really loved Lisa. She liked that he had no space for any other women but herself in his heart.

Somi watched as they fed each other breakfast. Almost sobbing, she ran out of the living room in heartbreak.

"My daughter..." Huang Zhishu who was also in the living room initially stayed silent. However, she could not help feeling worried and quickly chased after her.

Next to the Chinese-style garden, Somi hatefully snapped the roses that were blooming beautifully.

One by one, every blooming flower was snapped off the branch. Her vicious gaze appeared to be imagining the branches as Jennie's life.

Huang Zhishu approached in heartache. "My daughter..."

"Mom!" Somi's eyes reddened. "I've liked Lisa for more than twenty years. Why won't he look at me? Jennie, that vixen, she stole him from me!"

"Lisa is yours. No one can take him away!" Huang Zhishu narrowed her eyes. The wrinkles on the corner of her eyes also crinkled up. "You have to be patient. Urgency will only lead you to make mistakes."

"You always say that..."

Huang Zhishu patted her on the back and began to educate her. "That year, your adopted father, Pu, also had feelings for someone else. He was deeply in love with a vixen named Hu Lewei. I approached him step by step and not only ruined Hu Luwei but even convinced your adopted father to bring Kai and you into the Manoban family."

"Mom, did our adopted father know that my brother and I are..."

Zhishu cut her off. "Of course not. He always believed that I was a virtuous woman who loved him deeply. If it wasn't because he was Elder Manoban's oldest son and had the Manoban family's support, how could I possibly have been interested in him? His younger brother, Hong, is quite outstanding. It's a pity that he is extremely loyal. Aside from his wife, Ye Yunzhi, he isn't interested in any other woman."
