Everything was silent. We didn’t speak. We just kept walking. Walking to the other side of Mithia. I expected that Fyren Graves would send us to the other side, just so he can have more time preparing whatever next thing he had in store for us. For me. I wished I neve asked Faith to come. The letter was to me, after all. Even though Torin was guilty, I to felt some guilt for bringing her. She already was sceptical and I convinced her to come along. What a stupid, stupid idea. If I never did that, I would’ve never lost her. Her mother would’ve never lost her. Her town would’ve never lost her. I kicked against a small rock. I flew away and landed a couple of steps in front of me. This process repeated until the rock flew to the left and out of reach. I stared back to the ground. I could feel that Torin wanted to say something. I wasn’t looking at him, but I knew. I was certain. I felt it. But, I ignored it. I was still filled with rage. It’s only because of my fondness towards Mo that he stayed. Mo had been with him since we left and Bo was with me. He was happily humming on my head. He made me smile. I heard Torin chuckle behind me. I looked up. The sun was shining, as if this day was a happy day. It wasn’t. Not for me at least. Torin started to walk next to me. Now I could actually see his urge to ask something. I sighed.
“Your face is annoying me. What do you want to ask?” I said in an annoyed tone. I saw Torin smile in the corner of my eye.
“Well… I have never heard of Archdale Castle.” Torin said. I turned to him.
“Well well well… the guide has finally heard of an unknown place.” I said. I knew I sounded like a total bitch, but I couldn’t care less. I sighed and started to explain:
“The Archdale Castle is the castle of the early Royalties. Back when only humans inhabited Mithia, the Royal family had built a beautiful castle in the woods. But, soon it was discovered that the building had disturbed evil spirits and creatures. Every inhabitant was brutally murdered, except for the crown prince. He built another castle, far away from Archdale Castle. That castle is still used by the Royals of the Seven Species. Archdale Castle is still haunted. Only those with evil intentions can survive better all the way to the throne room, than those who want to do good. Surprisingly, the throne room is the only room not haunted. I bet Graves is holding my father there. But we have to pass all the evil lurking in the shadows. It’s also better for us if we enter with daylight. The ghosts aren’t very active then.” Torin nodded.
“And what kind of evil?” He asked. I gave him a death stare, but still answered his question.
“All kinds. From evil poltergeists to demons who escaped hell. From riddle spirits to killer ghosts. You get it all.” I said.
“And, before you ask: I know all this because my father and Graves came here a lot. My dad had evil intentions for good reasons.” I said. Torin closed his mouth, making it look like a straight line, and he shut up. Peace at last.
Soon, the bright daylight turned into the dark light of the moon and stars. I hadn’t even noticed how fast the time went. Torin kept quiet for the rest of the journey, just like he promised. I was still extremely pissed at him, but at least I knew I wouldn’t have to do this alone. I still hate him. But at least I got help.
