John woke up in the morning with Stephanie still laying on his chest. He laid back for a little while looking at her. He could not believe that somebody so kind and so beautiful was laying in his arms. He then woke her up because he needed to run to his house to shower before his shift starts at the firehouse.
"Morning beautiful."
"Good morning lover. How did you sleep?"
"Best night sleep I have had in years. I can give you a ride to your car if you want."
Stephanie agreed and they both got ready to go. On the ride there, Stephanie could help but to keep looking over at John. All she could think about was the night before. She has never done that with anybody that she hasn't been dating at least a couple weeks. She hoped he does not think she does this with anybody.
When they got to the car Stephanie leaned over and whispered in John's ear for him to call her later right before she kissed him on his lips, sustaining the kiss hoping it is not the last time she gets to kiss him. Stephanie got into her car and before she started it up she checked her phone. She had one voicemail from her lieutenant. "Polaski told me what happened with your house and this note that you received that may be connected to the murder case you are working on. I have no choice but to suspend you pending an investigation."
Stephanie knew this would probably happen, and she is not upset about it. She needs the time to deal with the insurance company about her house anyway. She started the car and headed to the clothing store. With all of her clothes being ash she had to buy all new ones. She bought t-shirts, jeans, regular panties and a couple bras. She also bought some lingerie, something she has never bought in her life.
After Stephanie left the store she went back to the house to shower, change into a new outfit and call the insurance company.
"What do you mean you need to investigate the explosion? Why would I blow up my own house with everything I own in it?"
"You do not have enough money to pay for the memories I lost with all my belongings. I just had to buy clothes or else I would be walking around naked. I am staying in a friends house because I have nowhere else to live."
"Fine, just do your investigation and hurry up. I need a place to live."
