As they arrived at the apartment building, Sunghoon's coach led him to his temporary residence. Standing before the door of the unit, his coach turned to him with a reassuring smile. "This is where you will live for now," he announced, his tone gentle yet resolute. Sunghoon nodded in understanding, grateful for his coach's support.
"Your expenses on the house will be on me, and if you have to buy something, just reach out to me. I'll give you some money," his coach continued, emphasizing his willingness to provide for Sunghoon's needs.
Sunghoon felt a mixture of gratitude and discomfort at his coach's generosity. While he appreciated the gesture, he couldn't shake off the feeling of dependency it brought. Nevertheless, he knew he had no other option at the moment.
"There's an available unit here in this apartment," his coach explained further. "It's occupied by one person who was looking for a roommate, and that's perfect for you. You can live there for a while."
Sunghoon sighed inwardly, resigning himself to the reality of having a roommate. He had hoped for solitude, but circumstances dictated otherwise. With a nod, he acknowledged his coach's instructions.
Following his coach's lead, Sunghoon entered the unit, his mind preoccupied with thoughts of adjustment. He barely noticed his coach knocking on the door until it swung open to reveal a tall, slender boy with a welcoming smile.
"Hey, Sunghoon," his coach called him warmly. Sunghoon glanced up from his phone, taking in the sight of the newcomer. The boy bowed politely and waved in greeting, his demeanor friendly and inviting.
Sunghoon returned the gesture with a nod of acknowledgment, his attention briefly diverted from his phone. His coach then turned to Sunghoon, addressing him directly. "So, you know what to do," he said. "Just call me if you need something."
Sunghoon nodded eagerly, expressing his gratitude for the support. "Thank you, Coach," he replied sincerely.
"And please contact me for his expenses," his coach added, turning to the other boy. "I've already given you my contact number."
Sunghoon waved goodbye to his coach in acknowledgment, his mind still reeling from the sudden change in his circumstances. As his coach finally left, Sunghoon found himself alone with his new roommate, a sense of apprehension creeping over him. But as he looked at the boy standing before him, he couldn't help but feel a flicker of hope for the new chapter unfolding in his life.
