Chapter 4: Slight Mistakes

Daryn's outfit in the MM:
THREE DAYS LATER
Daryn:

"Well mama I'm about to board the plane now I will call you once I land." I said into the phone.

"Okay Daryn. Did y'all make sure to confirm that Uber?"

"Yepp we got it all together." I said.

"Okay cool I'll see you later tonight because I'm backed up with meetings all day. Be safe hun love you."

"I will. Love you too." I said before hanging up the phone.

I looked to my right and smiled at Jordan. He was also flying down for the funeral and his flight landed in D.C., first so we met up at the airport to head to Houston together.

He was typing away at his phone so I did the same on mine.

"Have you talked to Khari recently?" He asked finally glancing up.

"Yeah last night when I was packing."

He nodded and went back to typing on his phone. I wondered who he was typing to so frantically but I realized that we were no longer together so that was none of my business. Plus when we were together I was never the type to die to go through his phone I trusted him back then and I still do trust him a lot.

"At this time we will begin boarding the plane please refer to your ticket to see when to start boarding." The flight attendant said over the airport speaker.

Once she called our class number we boarded the plane and found our seats.

"Attention all passengers we are about to start our trip to Houston, Texas. Please turn off all electronic devices until we guide you to return to them. Please fasten your seat belts and enjoy the ride." Another flight attendant said over the flight speakers.

Before I turned my phone off I checked to see if I had any unread messages.

Miles💞💦: be safe baby girl I'll see you when you get back. 12:38pm

I smiled before replying back.

Me: I will call you when I get there ☺️ 12:39pm.

With that sent I turned off my phone and decided to take a nap.

Jordan:

I could already tell this weekend would be something interesting. One because Khari always complained about how no matter the time or place her family could never get along so I was a little concerned about the funeral. And two because I'm sitting on this plane with my ex girlfriend that I might still have feelings for. I was definitely going to try to test my luck while we're together to see if maybe they're are still some feelings between us... If you know what I mean. I mean don't get me wrong I love Daryn but her and I both know we're not trying to be together but that doesn't mean that two friends can't reconnect physically.

After a few minutes of being in the air the flight attendants told us we could power up our electronics again. I took this time to turn on my laptop and finish some last minute homework so that I would have this whole weekend to focus on me and Daryn. While I typed away at the computer my phone buzzed that I had a message.

Ashley:.. We need to talk like right when you get back. 1:05pm

Me: 4 what? 1:06pm

Ashley: I don't want to discuss it over text. Maybe call me later? 1:07pm

Me: bet 1:10pm

I rolled my eyes at the messages because I'll be damned if Ashley tries to hit me with some shit about her being pregnant because I swear on my life I wrapped it up.
