Hi so this is my first story that I completely made up. I usually write fanfictions so if you're into PJO/HOO you should go check out my other story's. Anyway please GO easy I'm not looking for an award winning story I just like to write them for fun.
------------------------------------------------------I walked into the same dull, boring school I've been going to for the last year and a half. I got to school a little before the bell rang (which is at 8:30 every morning) and walked across the courtyard to where my friends and I usually are until the bell rings.
My name is Kathrine Akien. I was in the middle of my seventh grade year at Legalista middle school (which ive come to learn is just legalistic in spanish). I have long brown hair with unnatural blond streaks through it and stormy gray eyes that most people find intimidating. I'm also a little shorter than average and and I weight less but there's not to much of a difference. I'm not really a girly-girl but not a Tomboy. My friends say that I'm half of each making me feel a little awkward about that. I generally wear simple shirts with jeans. I hardly wear skirts, shorts, or dresses. Partly because I mostly own jeans and partly because I don't want people to see my scarred up legs (due to the fact that I used to always climb trees as a child) and getting the wrong idea of me.
I reached my circle of friends but noticed that two of them were missing. The ones that were here were my best friend Jaxine Amato (a Latina girl with dark brown hair and sea-green eyes. I had to admit that I was jealous of Jaxine's eyes. I had always wanted sea-green eyes). Today Jaxine was wearing a mint green tank top, regular skinny jeans, her usual black boots, and a white Jean jacket that blended well with her tank top. Also, there was Bianca Devlin and Mike Devlin (they were fraternal twins). Bianca has long blond hair and sky blue eyes while Mike had close cropped blond and startling blue eyes (there was hardly a difference between the eye colors but they insisted that they were different)."Hey." I said as I walked up to them. Mike gave me his famous trouble maker grin that usually got him put in the front row when teachers saw and I stopped and looked at him warily.
"Kit Kat!!" I hated the nickname but of course that just pushed Mike to use it. Soon all my friends we're using it, not that I had many friends.
"What?" I asked with a bit of caution in my voice.
"How's things going with Jason?" He asked as we wiggled his eyebrows suggestivly. I growled at him. Jason Ocasio was a tall guy with dark Brown hair and beautiful hazel eyes. I told Bianca and Jaxine that I liked Jason but of course Mike happened to be eavesdropping. Now Mike wasn't the type of friend to say
'oh you like that guy? Ok I won't tell.'
No he was the type to say
'Oh you like him? Ok now I'll use the bit of information to make you do any thing I say or I'll tell him that you like him'
Yeah. Great friend right? Yeah not really. I first met Mike when i was forced to partner with his sister in 6th grade for a project. I used to find him quite annoying but now I love him (in a brotherly way)."Good" I growled at him. He had the nerve to laugh.
"Now now, don't be like that. So are you guys together now?" he asked 'innocently'. Before i could point out to him that we were a rag-tag group of 12 year old and not nearly old enough to date, Jason and
Jake came bursting into the courtyard."Sorry we're late." Jason panted.
His arm was lightly brushing mine so I was blushing lightley."Well took you long enough." Jaxine said pointedly. She picked up her bag which had been previously laying against her leg and shouldered it with a little bit of difficulty, seeing as it was twice as full as normal.
"What are you guys talking about?" I asked giving them a skeptical look.
Jason smiled warmly at me and I melted inside.
"Well, you didn't think that we forgot about your birthday, did you?" He answered evenly. I blinked. Was it my birthday today? I thought I wasn't for another two days.
"It's my birthday today?" I asked in my confusion. They all burst into fits of laughter.
"Oh my God! How did you forget your own birthday?!" Jake asked inbetween bits of laughter. I didn't answer. So much has been happening at home. First my parents have been arguing and then I have a ton of projects from school that I needed to get done. Lastly when I wasn't thinking of anything, I would hear random voices in my head. At home it would only be one or two but when I was in crowded places like the mall or school when everyone was together, it would get so over whelming that i had to leave. I had no idea what it was but it scared me. And i hadn't told anyone about it in fear of being sent to a mental asylum.
But I guess it was my birthday today. It was November 13th. I realized that it was also a Friday. I chuckled lightly."Guys, It's Friday the 13th." I said to them as it dawned on them. Jason frowned slightly.
"That's not good..." He muttered.
"Awwww...Jason's worried!" Mike teased. Both Jason and I glared daggers at Mike. He gave us a wide smile. I scowled at him.
Bianca rolled her eyes and grabbed my hand, along with Jaxine's and started pulling us in the direction of the eighth grade staircase.
When i say 'eighth grade staircase', i'm talking about the staricase that leads to the eighth grade classrooms. There is also sixth grade staricase that lead to their classrooms but since seventh grade rooms are in the middle, we just choose whichever case to go up."Come on, i need to talk Mr. What-his-face. The new math teacher. " Bianca explained before a comment could leave Jaxine's mouth.
I raised an eyebrow at her. "If this is about the homework just put x equals 3 and be done with it" I complained loudly and annoyingly as possible.
------------------------------------------------------
I know it's not the best but when I finish this, I'm going to go back and do some major editing.
So I don't know if you guys like this but if you can please help pick a different name for the book that would be great. I don't really like the name that it IS now ans I feel that it doesn't really tie in with the story.
