"OhmygoshKendriIcan'tdothecircleoffithstosavemylife" Madelyn, one of Kendri's most amazing friends, exasperated as she and Kendri left their Chorus room. Kendri was an amazing student, she got great grades, had great friends, and great hair. But there was one thing Kendri didn't have that she longed for... ROMANCE!! Specifically with a boy named Robbie, who had been working on a group project with her lately.

Kendri loved everything about him, his humor, his style, his personality, but there was one thing she did NOT like about him...

HE ALREADY HAD A GIRLFRIEND 😫😫😱

This broke Kendri's heart... 💔⇦

But..

Kendri is strong, so strong that she even confessed to him about how she felt, though knowing it was forbidden love...

Things have been taking a turn though lately.. Robbie began texting with Kendri outside of their group project chat, and wouldn't just talk about schoolwork either. Of course, Kendri didn't have a problem with this, but she did feel like it was wrong on some level. So.. she decided to cut him off 😢

She didn't want others to think of her as "the other woman", so she did what she had to do...

(Back to present time)

"YOU WHAT??" Madelyn shouted, "You can't do this to me Kendri, the ship must sail!!!" She continued to shout, this time on the verge of tears.

"I'm sorry, but I can't have rumors going around that I'm a man-stealer.." Kendri replied, letting out a sigh.. "He's already with someone.." She added, solidifying her reasoning. "Well.. as long as that's what you want.." Madelyn then gave her a hug before leaving for 3rd block.

Kendri walked into the Cafeteria after saying bye, then sat down at her usual seat to munch on her dried mangos.. her mind was a war zone right now. Things would work themselves out though. It would all be okay. It had to be.

Last block was over and all Kendri wanted was to go home..

As she was exiting the school to the parking lot, her eyes locked onto a strange looking car she had never seen at the school before. This car was flying through the parking lot to say the least, Kendri took note of the car because of how bizarrely illegally fast it was going through a SCHOOL parking lot.

She had almost made it across the parking lot when she noticed that ridiculously fast car coming straight for... the kid in front of her on their phone!!!

Kendri's legs moved before her brain could think, and suddenly she had become a pro football player with the tackle she had thrown herself and the kid into.

She could feel the back of her hair graze the car as it sped by... that's how close to tragedy she was. Once she hit the concrete she scraped her knee, but otherwise was okay. The kid on the other hand, seemed embarrassed and in shock. I mean they did literally almost just die.

The kid pushed Kendri away from them and ran off somewhere..

How ungrateful 🙄

As Kendri stood up, dusting herself off, she felt eyes on her... turning around she saw practically every kid in the school was staring at her, eyes wide. Oddly, this didn't make the feeling disperse.. if anything it got worse. Like someone was looking into her very soul..

She then sprinted to her Mom's car, where she was waiting. (Somehow Mom didn't see any of what happened) "How was school?" She asked her daughter as she slammed the passenger door shut.

Out of breath, Kendri mumbled an "okay" as she stared out the window... She was in shock herself, not just at her actions, but also at the fact of how close to death she had just been.

Little did Kendri know, that her life was about to take a HUGE turn.. 🫢🐞
