"First day of summer break? Noo, last day of summer break.."

----------------------------------------------

Hyunjin laid back against the headboard of his luxurious bed, scrolling on his phone. Hyunjin lived a very spoiled and nice life, but of course, there had to be a couple problems in it too. Hyunjin had this girl in his life that made him feel actual joy. Then, this girl had the courage to get out of his life. Simply ruining it.

Now, that was back in the 8th grade. But he still blamed everything on the girl. After that incident, Hyunjin couldn't feel love like he used to. He gave his everything to the girl, yet got nothing back in return. This girl had a brother, the brother was a little younger than the girl, about a year.

Hyunjin never knew a lot about the brother of the girl, but he had seen pictures and a bit of basic information about him. It was obvious the brother was the opposite of the girl. He was a lot more quiet as heard, more reserved, less bold, and all of these other things.

Hyunjin despised the girl, yes, but also the brother. Based on the pictures he had seen, the girl and him looked very alike. The brother looked more like a male version of the female. Hyunjin was happy that he was slowly healing with therapy but he still can't get his mind off of that incident.

"Hyunjin, dear!" A soft yet loud voice yelled out from downstairs. "Coming, mum!" Hyunjin yelled back, scrambling out of bed and rushing downstairs to the voice.

As Hyunjin finally got to the last two steps of the staircase, he was confused when we saw his mother dressed up neatly. "What's the occasion?" Hyunjin asked, slowly approaching them.

"Well.. you know the house next door that used to belong to Mrs. Parker?" Hyunjin's mother knew Hyunjin knew about the house next door, she was just making sure. "Uhm, Yes. What about it?" The boy asked, genuinely curious about what this had to do with the neat clothing.

Hyunjin's mother took a deep breath in and softly let it out. "A wonderful family just moved into that house! And surprise, surprise! That family has a wonder selection of children! They're just so precious.. I've seen them right when they got out of their car!" She squealed.

"What does this have to do with.. all of this excitement? I understand that there's a new family, but the clothing and all of the excitement.." Hyunjin was still confused but he was slowly trying to catch on.

"Oh! One of the children are going to be attending your school! I would like for you to make friends for this new school year as a junior, so I just wanted to let you know that." His mother smiled warmly, it appeared that she was very happy about this new group of people. On the other hand, Hyunjin didn't get what all of this joy was all about still.

"Ooh, do you know her-.. or his name yet? I mean, I feel like you should know since this is the only new student you've told me about." Hyunjin rubbed the back of his neck. Hyunjin's mother was the principal of his school, which bounced from bad to good or good to bad in different situations.

"The sweetheart is a boy, Hyunjin. His name is Kim Seungmin! Such a pretty name, right?" She asked as the grin on her face stuck. Meanwhile, Hyunjin was in absolute shock

"O-ooh.. Seungmin? Yeah..!" Hyunjin forced a smile onto his face, trying to cover up the fact that he was panicking in the inside.

Hyunjin's mother began going on a rant about how Seungmin was and how he was absolutely lovely. "Seungmin's parents is as lovely as him! I talked to his parents before hand since.. there's a few things about him that were needed to be discussed for a couple moments, but overall his quite a wonderful young boy! You two would make great friends. I promise! The entire Kim family is such a wonderful family.. it would be a shame if you didn't even try talking to one of them! They're like a perfect and happy family! And I know, I know. I always have said perfect was a strong word, but I'm serious in this situation!"

"Is there.. anything else I need to know..?" Hyunjin asked so he wouldn't just walk off if his mom had anything else to say. "Uhm, before you become friends with him. Just know his sensitive and has a couple of his own issues. Be gentle and kind with him, please. If I hear about you doing anything to the poor baby, you're are really going to get in big trouble." His mother said in a soft, calm tone.

"Could you maybe specify? It would help me become friends with him more if you did!" He said, Hyunjin didn't feel exactly afraid anymore. He despised Seungmin with all his heart, only because his appearance resembles.. her. Hyunjin didn't think he would use any of Seungmin's problems against him out loud, yeah.

"Uhm. He had a very specific and tragic event that took place awhile ago in the past. Now, I can't go into big details since it's important to keep things private but let's just say it made a big impact on his life that caused low thinking of himself." Hyunjin's mother sighed softly and paused, she felt very bad for the poor boy. He didn't deserve anything to be treated like that in his past.

She continued where she left off on her ramble as she regained the courage. "I do not want to put a lot of the information out there, but it's best to maybe become friends with him first and try to get him comfortable with you! Then that's when he might be able to open up."

"Okay, I guess. When does school start again?" Hyunjin asked a new question, trying to change up the topic.

"Uh, let's actually see, shall we?" She smiled again, walking over to the calendar and searching for a square that marked, "FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! :)" Hyunjin waited patiently for his mother to say anything.

Hyunjin's mother turned around finally after what felt like hours of her searching. "The first day of school is.. tomorrow!"

Hyunjin laid down in his comfortable bed after a relaxing, warm shower that night.  It's been the first time he felt.. weird. He didn't know what he was feeling, but it was something and he didn't like it. Hyunjin made sure he was all snuggled into the soft blankets of his before shutting his eyes closed.

Until, eventually drifting off into a peaceful, calming, slumber for the final night of summer break.
