As Mia drove closer to the stadium she took a deep breath trying to control her breathing and fast heartbeat.
It was her first day being the team manager of the Charlotte Hornets basketball team. She was so elated when got the job but now came the nerves. Many people asked how she got such a job and to be honest, it wasn't as impressive as people may think.
The head coach for the team was a very close family friend of Mia's and once he heard that she was looking for a job, he didn't think twice before calling her.
He had no doubt in her whatsoever. Mia would love to watch basketball games when her dad was coaching and soon grew to love the sport too. After her dad retired she continued to watch but instead for his team.
"Ok you got this Mia, don't freak out." She whispered to herself as she walked into the building. Mia wouldn't admit it but she was intimidated by being around professional basketball players almost 24/7.
She was a little tense on how they would act towards her. Not to mention that most of the players were above 6 feet tall when she only stood 5'3.
Mia walked into the stadium looking around. It was quite huge and had many players already practicing on the court. Once Vince saw her he immediately came over. "Mia! I'm so glad you took the job. It going to be so much fun kiddo! Well let me show you around then we can get started." He said.
Meanwhile the two were talking, one player had taken Mia into interest. His coach had mentioned before that they were getting a new team manger and to be respectful, the same pep talk everything they bring someone new on the team. But he wasn't expecting someone like her.
"Yo Lamelo! Come show her around please." Vince yelled bringing him over to where they were standing.
Once he stood next to here it was an obvious difference. Mia felt shy under his intense gaze, his eyes never leaving hers. "Mia this is Lamelo he'll be showing you around to get a feel for the place while I grab a few things." Vince said looking over some papers that Mia had handed him, totally unaware of the staring contest going on.
Vince then walked off leaving the two by themselves. "Mia, nice to meet you" she said softly still staring at him. He smirked a little then responded, "You gotta cute name, Lamelo but you can call me melo." He said starting to walk off.
Mia followed his trail trying to keep up with his long strides, trying not to cheese after his compliment.
As they continued to walk it got harder and harder for Mia to keep up with the man, "Uh could you slow down please?" She asks softly almost seemingly scared for his answer.
Lamelo slowed and turned around to see her wide doe eyes and smiled, "My bad lil ma, right this way" He said pointing letting her go in front of him.
He followed her putting his hand on her lower back leading her throughout the building. As he toured her Mia knew she wouldn't remember where all these places were. She could hardly even focus right now with his hand on her back.
"And this is your office" He said quietly as she looked around her space. "Thanks melo" Mia said smiling while looking up at him. The two stared at each other for a minute before he quickly looked away.
"Shit ma can't be doing that" He says taking a deep breath going to sit down in your spinny chair. The tension in the room was intensely thick making Mia cross her legs as he looked at her.
"Close the door, then come here" He instructed her which she obeyed immediately, feeling excited. She walked over to where he was sitting and he grabs ahold of her waist pulling her to sit on his lap.
Mia gasped silently and smiled at the attractive man adjusting her legs to where she was comfortable. After another staring contest Mia leans in and kisses him softly laying her hand on his chest.
"Melo?"
"Lamelo?" Mia said making him come out of his daydream. "Hm?" He hummed looking at her a little flustered. She simply smiled and laughed silently, "Thanks for showing me around, I'm going to go back now. I'll see you around?" She asked staring into his dark eyes.
"Of course" He answered watching as she walked out of her office. "Fuck bro!" He took a deep breath and then walked out.
