As the soft knock on the door interrupted Ishita's peaceful slumber, she stirred slightly, feeling the comforting warmth of the bed enveloping her. Siddharth's voice broke through her sleepy haze, gently coaxing her awake.
"Hey, Mama. Come on, wake up," Siddharth said softly, his tone filled with warmth and affection.
Ishita moaned in protest, pulling the sheet over her face. "Ugh, just five more minutes," she mumbled.
Siddharth sighed, setting the plate he carried on the table. "Isha, breakfast time," he persisted, gently removing the sheet from her face.
Ishita relented, pulling him into the bed. Siddharth stumbled slightly, but settled beside her as she nestled her head in his lap, wrapping her arm around his torso.
He smiled down at her, running his fingers through her hair. "Wake up, baby mama. It's late," Siddharth urged gently.
Then he leaned down and pecked her lips. Her eyes flew open, She frowned playfully and looked up at him. "Eww, it's gross. I haven't brushed my teeth yet," Ishita protested, wrinkling her nose.
Siddharth rolled his eyes, leaning down to steal a quick kiss. "You know I don't care," he teased.
Ishita pushed him away with a giggle. "Such a romantic," she teased back, her eyes sparkling with affection.
He chuckled, his gaze softening as he placed a hand on her swollen womb. "How's my princess doing?" Siddharth asked, his voice filled with tenderness.
Ishita raised an eyebrow challengingly. "My prince is doing absolutely fine," she retorted playfully.
"We'll see," Siddharth replied with a grin, his eyes twinkling mischievously.
With a shrug, Ishita slipped out of bed and made her way to the washroom to freshen up, leaving Siddharth to bask in the warmth of their morning routine and the love that filled their shared space.
As Ishita enjoyed her breakfast, Siddharth found himself captivated by the radiant glow emanating from his pregnant wife. It wasn't just a superficial admiration; it was a genuine appreciation for her beauty and the remarkable journey they were embarking on together. He couldn't help but marvel at the thought of Ishita blossoming into a wonderful mother, her gentle nature and unwavering support making her an ideal candidate for the role.
However, his reverie was interrupted by a text notification on his phone. Siddharth glanced at it briefly, recognizing it as a message from the station, but chose to ignore it. Ishita, ever perceptive, noticed his action and questioned him about it.
"From the station again?" she inquired, her tone laced with concern.
Siddharth offered a nonchalant shake of his head, attempting to dismiss the matter. However, Ishita wasn't so easily swayed, pressing him gently to consider returning to work, if only for a brief period.
"Sid, you should go to the station for a few hours at least," she urged, her concern tinged with a hint of admonition. "It's been how many weeks? It's almost two months?"
Siddharth interjected, correcting her with a gentle smile, "Only six weeks."
Ishita sighed, acknowledging the passage of time. "Yes, six weeks. It's been six weeks, and you haven't been to the station office."
Siddharth couldn't help but roll his eyes at Ishita's persistent urging. "You can't expect me to leave you alone. Especially now, as our due date is in less than a week. You're already having a bit of contraction," he countered, his concern evident in his voice.
Ishita shook her head with a sigh, her determination unwavering. "Yes, we have a week of time, so you should visit your work today," she insisted, preempting any further objections.
