Author's Note:

This short story is for anyone who has ever felt numb from reliving too much pain. It took me three months to finally complete it to a point where I feel satisfied enough to share it with people, so now, here it is.

Nine hearts, nine parts, nine thousand words.

Nine of Hearts is heavily inspired by the novels Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll and Heartless by Marissa Meyer.

Please note that there are graphic depictions of violence, a splash of gore here and there, and most definitely the death of some characters. You have been warned! If there are any errors or mistakes, keep in mind that this was personally edited several times with only one beta reader.
