Zeus
Zeus decided that he wasn't going to visit (Y/n) anymore. That dream had shot a fear in him that he didn't know. He didn't want to interfere with mortals anymore. He will stick with his nymphs and goddesses and magical beings. He will be bored. But that was a price he was willing to pay.
But then he got paranoid. Thoughts just like yesterday came. What if (Y/n) thought he disliked her? Hadn't he promised that he would visit her again? I mean of course she wouldn't understand that he could just appear to her whenever he so pleased. Yet that was besides the point. What if (Y/n) thought he wanted nothing to do with her because he didn't visit her anymore?
This was starting to irk Zeus. Here he was acting as if he was a lovesick puppy. Zeus was the king of gods. He could have any girl he wanted in the universe – no matter their looks or their preferences. He could have any goddess he so pleased. Why was he acting like this over some mortal? Sure she was pretty but what else was there to mortals?
Zeus now was in over his head. And as he sat in his throne on Mount Olympus, he realized just how in over his head he really was. Zeus never had to question about anything. Women flocked to him. Now he was worried some mortal wouldn't want him. This was utterly ridiculous to Zeus.
Advice. That's what Zeus needed. But not from just anyone. And definitely not from any of the goddesses. If word got out that Zeus was having nightmares about a mortal, he'll be the laugh stock of Olympus. He couldn't have that. So who could he go to?
So who could it be? Poseidon would laugh at him. He couldn't go to any of the goddesses. If word got back to Hera, she'd be livid. She'll go on a tyrant. Zeus wasn't ready for another argument with her. He already said that this mortal will be queen. What was he thinking saying that?!
Zeus grumbled to himself. Thinking through the gods he knew. Ares was too hotheaded. Hephaestus was just ugly to look at. Apollo wouldn't take anything serious. Hermes would tell everyone within minutes. He needed someone who wasn't going to around telling his business.
And then it struck Zeus like gold. There was one god that anyone was particularly fond of. Hades. His older brother. Hades stayed in the Underworld. Hades didn't venture out of it. He didn't have a throne here so he wouldn't be coming here to gossip. And Zeus could make him swear not to talk about it to anyone else. This was the perfect plan.
With that in mind, Zeus went down to the Underworld. Hades was sitting at a desk when Zeus appeared. Papers were stacked up high around him. Zeus grimaced. Not the place he would want to be. But maybe Hades liked it this way. After all Hades hadn't complained in all of the years he's been alive.
Zeus cleared his throat. "Hades."
Hades lifted his head up from his paperwork. "Zeus. What brings you down to the Underworld? You aren't particularly fond of here." Hades comments.
"Well I need advice. And you're the only god capable of giving it to me." Zeus states.
Hades looked at him skeptically. "You? Want my advice?"
Zeus nods quickly. A little frantically. Hades must know he's desperate since he's here. Honestly Zeus didn't see why Hades questioned him. Wasn't Zeus the king of gods? If Zeus wanted advice, he should be able to have it free of questions.
Hades breathes out a sigh. "Fine. What is it that you want advice on?"
Zeus holds up his hand. "First I need you to swear on the River of Styx that you won't tell another being. Regardless of the consequences."
Hades now seemed more skeptical. "What is so important that I must swear on the River of Styx?"
Zeus scowls. "Oh just do it, won't you? I don't ask for much."
Hades stared at Zeus for a long moment without commenting. Zeus was sure he wasn't going to get a response back. Had this whole journey been pointless? Was Zeus trying too hard? Maybe he should just give away the beautiful mortal that enraptured his attention.
"Fine. I swear on the River of Styx not to tell another being what you tell me."
Zeus breathes out a sigh of relief. This hadn't blown up in his face then. A grin appears on Zeus's face. "Great. Now bear with me. It's quite the story. I had a dream last night."
Hades frowns. "What is so special about a dream Zeus? Please don't tell me you came here to waste my time."
Zeus laughs. "I haven't, brother. It's to do with the mortal I've been fated with. Just listen for a moment."
Zeus recounted the events of the dream. He was aware of the way it made him seem. He was also aware of the way it portrayed him. However Hades has promised to never tell a soul. And in that essence, Zeus didn't need to worry about how crazy he seemed.
"That's quite the strange turn of events." Hades comments once the story done.
Zeus nods his head. "It is. I don't know what to make of it. What is your advice brother? Give it to me straight." Zeus ordered.
The dread that Zeus was feeling before seemed to settle into his bones again. Recounting the dream to another seemed to make it more real. If that was possible. He also didn't understand why a mortal would make him act this way. Like... Like a lovesick dog.
"I say this mortal must be the one you're fated with. It only makes sense." Hades comments.
"But what do I do about it? Do I leave her alone? I can't leave her alone. She'll be upset. She'll think that I don't want her anymore. And I do want her. Maybe just a quick fuck. But oh she is an angel. And her personality is a breath of fresh air." Zeus rambles.
Hades stared at Zeus for a moment. "Brother it seems you are growing a liking to this mortal."
Zeus frowns. "That's not happening. I refuse for it to happen."
Hades shakes his head. "If what you are saying is true, it is bound to happen. No matter what you do. The more you fight it, the more your mind will turn into madness. I say just let it happen. Since there's no point in stopping it at this point. You must be careful though. Don't forget the last part of the prophecy."
Zeus scowls. "So this is my life now? I must be with a mortal woman for the rest of my life?"
Hades shrugs. "Is it really such a bad thing that you're with one woman for the rest of your life? Regardless of if they're a mortal or not. Besides, it never said in the prophecy that you couldn't make her a goddess."
Zeus pauses. He could make her a goddess couldn't he? He could make her one of them and have her live in Olympus with him. But for that to happen, he must admit that he has taken a liking to this mortal. He must admit that the prophecy will come true.
"Hmm. I'll have to think on it."
