He squirmed and struggled, trying desperately flail his limbs and swim away, he was completely defenceless, stripped of his gear, left in just his clothes. Before he knew it he being pushed through the water at great speed and a harsh pain in his sides, gripped in the mouth a shark. He accidentally gasped but the force of the water pushed its way into his mouth, almost immediately going down his throat and obscuring his airways, he quickly succumbed to the black abyss. He awoke suddenly, coughing and choking, spitting out buckets of water.
"Are you okay?"
A soft but loud voice spoke to him, he took another moment to get most of the water out of his system and looked around, he was surrounded by a thin layer of... something, it looked like a bubble. He saw coral, seaweed, fish... hold on... surely, he wasn't still underwater? He could breathe. Well... kind of. He now looked up, trying to see the surface of the water, if it was even there, though only to be met with a gigantic face. He stared in shock, and it stared back with interest, seemingly waiting for a response. He took another quick look around, unable to believe the reality of what was happening. His eyes met below him, gazing upon a giant hand holding the bubble he was in, his confusion only increased. He looked back up at this... monster? No, this was no monster... it was truly magnificent, beautiful.
"Hello?"
It spoke again, trying to get a response out of him.
"...hi...?"
He spoke hesitantly, this situation was intriguing, though he couldn't help but still be slightly scared.
"Are you okay, human?"
"I'm-I'm okay... I think..."
He kept staring up at it, and it stared back. Though eventually he got a sharp pain in his sides, he curled and gripped his side with his right hand only to feel multiple gaping holes, he lifted his hand to see, it was soaked in blood, he looked down you could see the literal insides of him through these gaping holes. A quick feeling of nausea and weakness washed over him, he couldn't feel the pain entirely but the weakness he felt threatened to force him unconscious.
"Are you sure you're okay, human?"
He felt himself be moved upwards, he looked up at the creature again, this time almost right up against its face, he could perfectly see every detail of its gleaming golden eyes, he could not believe the sight he was seeing, as a marine biologist, this was the peak of his career.
"You're... bleeding."
The sudden voice startled him, he must have been lost in thought.
"Stay here, human."
The magnificent lifeform carefully placed him down on top of a large piece of coral and began to slowly swim away.
"Wait! Don't leave me here!"
He yelled out but to no avail, he was not heard. He had no choice but to sit and wait. He once again gripped onto his side, trying to ignore the pain through the sights around him, he watched in the direction of that creature that rudely left him there, alone with nothing but a bubble protecting him. He hadn't noticed before but this creature's tail... A merperson? No... definitely not, it was simply too big, he had never seen or heard of anything like this in his life, it would be difficult to simply put this massive beauty into a category.

As his mind wandered at the scenery around him, he quickly forgot his pain and exhaustion, the mesmerising sights captivated him. It wasn't long before this creature had come back, it swam up to his bubble and leant against the coral, the tail going down into a deep dark abyss below. It held out its finger, long and thick pieces of seaweed littered it.
"Use this, it will help you, human."
He looked at the seaweed before him with scepticism, though he didn't really have a choice but to accept, he would probably die if he did nothing about these gaping wounds. He carefully moved himself and reached to the edge to the bubble, the creature stayed still, waiting for him to push through and grab the seaweed. Though he hesitated for a while, he pushed his hands through the bubble, the wet encasement of the ocean water overcame his arms, he didn't realise until now that his body had felt weightless in the bubble, the floating sensation as if he were still engulfed in water. He carefully grabbed the seaweed, quickly pulling back into the bubble, afraid something may happen. Once the seaweed left its finger, the began to glow, admitting a bright blue aura. He stared at it in his hands.
"Put it on your wounds, human."
Once again the sudden voice startled him, interrupting his thoughts. He used each individual piece and wrapped it around his body as if it were like any old bandage, it felt cool to the touch, though it slightly stung and he winced at the zaps of pain coursing through him. Once he was finished securing his body, he looked up at the creature, examining it once more.

The creature took a quick look up to the surface and peered back down.
"I can't take you to the surface, human."
He looked at him with shock, he needed to go back to land, he can't just live underwater forever.
"What?! Why?!"
A sense of urgency sounded in his voice.
"It's still daylight on the surface."
"...Oh, I see. So..."
He stays silent for a while, unsure if he should actually ask about such a straightforward question. Though, he was kind of curious about striking up a conversation with this creature.
"So you don't want to risk being seen?"
"Yes ...Humans are not supposed to know of my existence."
"Because they would probably hunt you down?"
"Something like that."
"But... Why save me then? I mean... I am a... human."
In response to his sentence, the creature leant down, getting it's face close to the bubble, now watching him closely. It eventually lets out a sigh, turning its head away with a slightly saddened expression.
"Humans are so intriguing... I've always wanted to meet one."
He couldn't help but notice the tinge of sadness spreading across its face, it must have longed for a moment like this to arise. He didn't know what to say to that, so he remained silent for the time being, though his mind couldn't help but realise that he had a similar longing, to discover something extraordinary, to discover a being like the very one in front of him.
"I... I have always wanted to see a creature like you. I know what you mean."
The creature quickly set its gaze back on him, its eyes lighting up as if a child filled with excitement.
"You have?"
He could easily tell that this creature was holding back a large burst of excitement, he chuckled in response.
"Yes, you're like the fantasy that everyone, well everyone like me at least, has wanted to experience."
"Everyone like you?"
"I'm a marine biologist, I like to do a lot of hands on research in the deeper parts of the ocean, so naturally I learnt to dive as well.
The creature listened intently to his small ramblings, though confused due to the fact it absolutely had no idea what he was talking about.
"Though it's a shame I don't have my gear anymore... I can't believe I got attacked by a shark."
"Your gear... that... uh... metal stuff?"
"Yeah, it got completely destroyed, I'm going to have to buy another set..."
He sighs, hanging his head down in defeat just thinking about the cost of it, he really did not have the money for it right now.
"You humans use the tiny shiny coins and the long pictures with faces in the middle as currency, right? human?"
"...Yes, why?"
"Wait here, human."
Once again the creature swam off, going who knows where, he can't believe that he was just left like that again. He wishes he had the ability to move in this moment.
