Penelope's POV
Working with a bunch of profilers, you'd think it'd be difficult to keep secrets from them.
Lucky for me, I have one secret that I have managed to keep from all of them.
I'm working on getting an address for someone when my phone dings. I send the address for an unsub to everyone's phones and check my own.
She's here.
I hop out of my chair and run through the bullpen to the elevators. Pure excitement is coursing through my veins.
The elevator dings and the doors open, revealing my pretty girl. "Val!" I squeal as I throw my arms around the girl.
"Hey Penelope." She chuckles as she hugs me back. I squeeze her tightly; I mean I haven't seen her in a week, because this stinking case is taking longer than expected and I've been staying in my cave in case my team needs me.
"Where's the team?" She asks me, setting her bags down by her feet. "They're on a case still, hopefully they'll be back tonight, so you'll get to meet them tomorrow morning." I inform her, she nods and looks around, wandering to the bullpen.
I grab her bags and carry them to my cave, then quickly rush back out to the bullpen where Val is.
"Your desk is right there," I nod to the desk adjacent to her, which happened to be across from boy genius' desk. "Spencer is the really smart one, right?" She asks me, I nod in response. "Yup, Spencer is our boy genius."
"Oh, so like me?" She wiggles her eyebrows, she may not have as many PhD's or degrees as Spence, but she's still damn smart.
"Yes." At my words a prominent smile appears on her face.
She sits down at her desk, opening and closing each and every drawer; a habit of her OCD.
Then I gasp, startling Val. "Let me show you to my cave, this way my darling." I walk towards my cave, making sure I hear the soft, quiet footsteps of her behind me.
"This is so cool," Val mutters as she looks around my cave. "Thanks, I decorated it myself." I smile proudly, she giggles. "Obviously, none of the others have such good decor skills except Rossi." She tells me. It stuns me a bit when she mentions Rossi, let alone his bomb decor skills.
I decide not to press it and sit at my desk. I put my headset on and on cue I get a call from Hotch. I press the key to answer, "Hey Hotch." I glance at Valentine, she's making herself comfortable on the couch, her bags by her feet.
"Uhm yes sir give me a few minutes to get that info to you." I type quickly and call Hotch back moments later.
"He owns four properties in Des Moines, none that have a basement, but one does have a shed." I mention, pulling up a picture of the house with a shed in the back. "What's the address?" My chocolate thunder's voice sounds through the phone. "Already sent to you all, my dear." I smile at the sound of his voice.
"Thanks, Pen." Hotch says and hangs up, probably driving.
I lean back in my chair and sip on my matcha drink.
••••
Several hours pass, Valentine is passed out on the mini couch, the team is on their way back home, everything is okay.
I stand up and grab the blanket that was hanging over the back of the couch and drape it over Val.
The team should be back in about an hour, so I sit on the ground by the foot of the couch and read a book, or text Derek back whenever he texts.
