Chapter 16: Feelings

I wake up and see Demetrius sleeping in the spare bed across from me. By this point he and I have gotten used to sleeping in the same room each night. Since we practically always have nightmares anytime we sleep alone it only made sense for us to just stay in the same room at night instead waking one another up screaming. I got home later than I had wanted thanks to one of my employees messing up at the cash register. Therefore, by the time I got home, Demetrius was already asleep.

By this point, I've come to learn that Demetrius is a pretty light sleeper which was why I had just climbed into the opposite bed he was sleeping in. Not wanting to wake Demetrius up too early before his shift, I tiptoe across the floor to my closet and pull out a nice pink blazer with a white button up shirt and black slacks. I wanted to look a little nicer than usual today because I was going out with Angel and the girls to help him pick out his wedding dress. I had intentions to dress business like because I was going to try and negotiate for a lower price on wedding dresses so that he could save a bit of money to use for other things. After grabbing my clothes, I walk to the bathroom and close the door and lock it.

I brush my teeth, my hair and put some deodorant on before changing into my clothes. I decide to put on some light makeup and then spritz on some of my signature body spray. I open the door and see that Demetrius is surprisingly still asleep. I sit down at my desk and write him a short note and leave it on his nightstand. I grab my room keys and quietly shut the door behind me and head downstairs.

As soon as I get downstairs I meet up with Charlie and Vaggie who are waiting at the bar. "You're dressed up real nice," Vaggie states. I smile at her, "yeah I was hoping to hackle down the price on the wedding dress that Angel selects." Charlie smiles, "Ah, that's very sweet of you, Jessie. I blush pink and a minute after that, a demon with one eye and blonde hair slams open the door and makes her way through the lobby and pushes past me as though I were invisible and wedges herself between me and Vaggie.

'If this is supposed to be Angel's maid of honor and best friend I must say, she's making a terrible first impression. Not that she would care or anything.' I thought to myself rolling my eyes. Soon after I see Husk and Angel heading to the bar. I close my eyes and take a deep breath in and let it out.

'Today is all about Angel so, I'm going to push these negative emotions away and be supportive.' I think to myself. All of us get up from the bar and walk toward the main entrance. Before Angel manages to make it out, Husk pulls him by the hand before wrapping his arms around him and kissing him on the lips. "Alright, love birds!!

It's time to part the seas!" Vaggie calls out from the car. "We'll take great care of him, Husk! He'll be back soon!!" Husk leans up against the wall just outside of the hotel entrance and grins, "you better!" Cherri loops her arm through Angel's left arm while Charlie wraps an arm through his right arm and they walk over and join Vaggie and I in Cherri's car.

As soon as we all get settled and buckled into our seats, Cherri turns on the ignition and drives us to the bridal shop. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Within a matter of minutes we make it to the bridal shop. A nice lady immediately greets us at the door with glasses of red wine 🍷 on a tray. We each take one and follow her to a private room. The wedding dress consultant starts asking Angel a series of questions about the type of dress that he's looking for and jots down Angel's answers on a notepad. She later finishes up her notes and smiles, "okay, I'll be back with a few selections for you. Feel free to make yourselves comfortable."
