Dorothy was sitting down on her bed, playing with her dog Doto, when her mother called. "Dorothy, come here!" She yelled. Startled, Dorothy ran to her mother, bolting through their poor wooden house. What on earth could make mother scream so desperately? She thought as she ran. Just then Dorothy saw it, she almost dropped Doto as well. The sky was a drowsy gray, full of storm clouds, the wind howled as if it were calling her. That moment everyone knew, Dorothy handed Doto to her mother. A cyclone was coming, Dorothy's mother and father called out to her, as she walked towards the screeching wind. Dorothy ignored their calls as they chased after her. Dorothy was looking to where the cyclone was. She was a very curious and naive little girl, so she had to look for it. Right as she saw the cyclone, her mother caught her grasp. She pulled her towards the cellar, rushing to keep her daughter safe. As she yanked open the door and jumped in. The cyclone was upon them. Dorothy's mother reached for her daughter's hand as Dorothy was lifted up into the sky, into the cyclone's eye. She scrambled to her bed's leg, and held on as tight as she could. The cyclone swayed her back and forth for so long, that Dorothy's fear vanished, and she fell asleep. What she didn't know was that the cyclone lifting her, was taking her to a new dimension, called Oz.
