AUTHOR'S POV
The sun hangs low in the sky as the plane touches down on the tarmac. The cabin door opens and the passengers begin to disembark and there stood Ada and Vidyut while holding their luggage. Ada's eyes are filled with a mix of anticipation and trepidation after decades she is back to her hometown, her place, the place where she was born. Her heart flutters with a mix of nostalgia and uncertainty.
This place holds a special place in her heart, although Vidyut despised it. This site brings back memories of his mother's death. He didn't want to come here, but he had to because Dishant and Divya wanted to meet him, thus it was his job to do so. He is a gentleman who never insults anyone without a valid reason.
Ada comes onto the jet bridge, her breath caught in the familiar aroma of Delhi. She looked around, taking in the bustling crowd, the cacophony of voices, and the vivid colors of the saris and turbans.
Her gaze settles on a sign that says 'WELCOME TO DELHI', and tears well up in her eyes. It has been decades since she was forced to leave this place, but she is returning to attend her favorite Di's wedding.
"The way you look, it appears that you are visiting here for the first time," Vidyut stated as they collected their baggage. He had purchased first-class tickets because all of his aircraft had flown Designs to New York.
"This is my hometown, Vid, and this is my location. Ada said, "I was born here," but she unintentionally addressed him by his nickname. He snapped his head towards her, but she was preoccupied with her surroundings.
Is this her hometown? However, I know otherwise. I clearly remember, on the first day of college, when delivering her introduction, she told everyone she was from Gujarat. He considered but did not ask her any questions.
A car was already waiting for them outside the airport; he has more REVA DESIGNS locations in Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. They exited the airport, Vidyut collected both of their luggage and went towards his car,
They got into the backseat of his new CRETA. The car drives past India Gate, where she used to cycle with her sisters, the Red Fort, which housed centuries of secrets, and Connaught Place, where her mother and aunts used to shop.
Ada was staring out the window as Vidyut was working on his iPad. Ada's heart pounds as memories come back. They go past the old cinema hall and the park where they used to play. She recalls legends about Delhi, such as the Mughal emperors, poets, and the vast bazaar. She recalls her mother's lullabies and the taste of mangoes in the blazing heat.
The car came to a halt in front of a large home, and Vidyut stepped out, his gaze drawn to the grandeur of the white pillars, elegant balconies, and expansive verandas. Ada peered out from behind the cottage and grimaced; this was neither her home nor the wedding site.
