Athena dusted herself off and wiped the blood from her dress and skin as she walked through the hall. She could hear chaos outside, but that really didn't concern her at the moment. She put her spear on her back and opened the doors to find the Demigods fighting her Athenian Warriors. Marc spun around with his mace held out, tearing multiple apart. Eden used vines and roots to restrain the warriors as killing others was something she hoped to avoid. Mikayla, who had very little issue with taking life, used magical crystals to sink into her targets' skin, then blow them up from within. Kenneth used his super speed to break several necks and backs before anyone else had even blinked. She watched as Beth and Hayden cleaved their way through warriors and finally decided to get their attention. She slammed the butt of her spear to the marble floor beneath her and Hayden turned around. When he saw who was at the door, he tapped Beth with the scythe. She turned around and the two faced her mother while the others continued their battle with the Athenian Warriors.
"Hey... wait, where's Dallr?" Hayden asked Athena while pointing his scythe at her.
"Gone, but do not worry," Athena told them "You will all join him soon enough."
"Let's put that to the test," Hayden said, then he leapt at the Goddess.
He swung the blade down at her head, but she ducked under it,
and grabbed the pole of the weapon. She held him in the air for a moment, then threw him down at her feet. Beth ran up to her and swung at the back of her head, but she conjured a shield, and blocked her daughter's attack. Athena pushed Beth back and Hayden got up, so now they were facing her on both sides. Hayden stabbed at her with the scythe, but she grabbed the pole again. She pushed him back and blocked another swung strike before bashing Beth in the forehead with the shield. Hayden swung at her again and Athena took the weapon away from him.
"Now you understand?" She asked while striking him across the face with the pole of his weapon, which knocked him down onto his back again. "You understand why I command an army while you are two inept fools?" She turned back to Beth and kicked her in the stomach, which knocked her against a pillar.
Beth fell on her stomach and when Athena turned back to Hayden, he told her "You're wrong!" He slashed her across the face with his scythe, which would've killed a normal person, but just left a long gash along Athena's face "I'm never gonna let you do to anyone else what you've put Beth and Dallr through."
Hayden jumped at her and Athena called a longsword to her hand to block a downward swing to her head. The blade of the scythe bounced off Athena's sword again and he swung back at her head. She batted his weapon down, grabbed him by the neck, and slammed him against another of the marble pillars.
"I will do with you Demigods as I so choose," Athena told him while slashing him across the chest, his armor being the only reason he wasn't killed instantly "And right now, I have chosen to kill you and all the rest." She struck him with the butt of her sword's hilt, then brought it back up above her head "And the end of this era of Demigods began with the son of Heimdallr, now the son of Hades will follow!"
She brought the sword down at his head, but he blocked it with the pole of his scythe. She pushed down at his head, so he tried to move away from her blade. Her sword dug through the marble pillar Hayden was pinned against and dug into his shoulder. Hayden groaned and grunted in pain as his gold speckled blood oozed out of him. She let go of the sword with one hand and slapped him across the face, causing him to tumble down the stairs up to the White House.
Beth finally got back up and jumped at her, but Athena ducked away from her daughter. She got up facing the door, then back kicked Beth in the chest. She was sent flying down the stairs, not even hitting a single step. Hayden setup and watched as she tumbled to the ground and pushed himself back up to his feet.
"Alright, is this all you've got?" Hayden asked as he conjured two black clouds around his hands "I'm getting bored."
He threw the clouds of death at Athena, but she just used a larger shield to block it. The death infected the shield, so she spun, and threw it at Beth and Hayden. The latter ducked and the former leapt out of the way and watched it hit an Athenian Warrior. He fell to the ground and it looked like all the moisture in his body evaporated as he crumpled to the ground. They looked back at Athena and she glared back at them with a shield and sword.
"Look, teaming up together is a much better plan than what your friend did back in that office," Athena told them, giving the two their due credit "But it still does neither of you any good." Hayden scoffed at this and spun his scythe in his hand "Do you children still not get it yet? There is no killing Gods!" She held her sword up to the sky and lightning struck it, electrifying the weapon's blade.
Beth and Hayden watched as she walked down the stairs with her newly enhanced weapon. As she made it down the steps, Beth looked over at Hayden. He nodded and they faced her mother again, Beth having summoned another sword. Hayden cracked his neck, then they both lunged at Athena. In response to this, she held her sword in both hands, and blocked their joint attack. They pushed down on her blade, but she barely had to try to hold them back. Athena kicked Hayden in the stomach and pushed Beth backwards before swinging her sword at both of them. They both leapt backwards and she elbowed Beth in the ear. She went flying down onto her back and Hayden shot another cloud of death at Athena. The Goddess blocked the attack with her shield, but this was what Hayden had hoped for. He used his minimal control over the cloud to raise her up into the air. She was heavy and the clouds were beginning to dissipate so he debated where to drop her. Hayden decided on throwing her into another group of Athenian Warriors. Eden had been struggling with the warriors, so when he looked back at Hayden, he nodded with a smile.
Beth got back up with a groan and saw Hayden get slapped away again. She grabbed her sword and ran at her mother, but Athena swung a spear at her stomach. Beth dove over the pole of the spear and rolled over her shoulder to avoid the attack. She got back up to her feet and jumped away from a stab down at her head. She landed, turned around, and used a shield on the ground to block the spear when Athena threw it at her.
"Hey!" Hayden yelled as he got back up.
He picked up his scythe and when Athena brought her sword up to attack Beth again he blocked it with the pole. He put his pole over her sword and held it down to the ground. He put his foot on the blade to keep it in the ground and Athena elbowed him in the throat. Hayden dropped his weapon and Athena pulled hers out of the ground before slashing him across the chest again. What was left of his armor gave him some protection, but her blade still cut through his skin.
Hayden fell to the ground and Beth yelled "I will kill you!" She swung at her head, but Athena just batted the weapon aside "I am going to kill you, you-"
"Your mistake was trying in the first place." Athena punched her in the nose.
"Your mistake was thinking this would be easy!"
"Elizabeth, I'm okay!" Hayden yelled to her as he stabbed Athena with the scythe "Cool down." Athena used the shield to block the scythe strike, then slashed his chest again with her electrified sword.
She turned around and grabbed Beth by the throat, then she swung her into Hayden. They both tumbled to the ground Athena called upon another sword. She called down another lightning bolt to super charged her new weapon like her first one. She watched as they got back up and she spun the electrified swords in her grip. Beth grabbed a sword again and Hayden called his scythe back to his hand. Beth ran at her and swung her sword down at Athena's head, but she just blocked it with the left sword. The lightning entangled the weapons and Athena saw Hayden attacking her. She spun around and used the other sword to stop his scythe. They both tried to push down against her, but Athena put in barely any effort to keep them both at bay. She swung back around and slashed at his their heads, but the two barely managed to get out of the way.
"You will not beat us!" Beth told Athena as she swung at the Goddess's head.
"I would rethink that notion," Athena replied as she used one sword to block two swings to her head.
"Elizabeth, stop with the Dallr type fight banter," Hayden told her as he swung his scythe at Athena's head, but she just let his blade bounce off of her's "He's already got it figured out." Athena turned and slashed at his stomach and chest, but he jumped back to avoid the strike.
Athena continued blocking their attacks easily and then Beth used an opening to knock her mother's left sword out of her hand. As Hayden got back up, Beth swung at Athena's head, but she casually stepped back to avoid the attack. She swung her sword across Beth's chest, the lightning cauterizing the wound before it even managed to begin bleeding.
"Power decides destiny," Athena told her combatants "And it appears yours is to lose." She stepped back and used another lightning bolt Hepheastus had given her to blast them both backwards "I will demonstrate, this is what real power looks like!" She spun around, grabbed her other sword, and swung two waves of lightning at the two, but even after all of that, they still tried to get back up "Oh my- just stay down."
"We can't," Hayden told her as he used the pole of his staff to help himself up.
