Something about the baseball game, ending with Delphine sucking it up to help protect Bella. Bring less of a bitch than rose

Delphine rolled her eyes and Emmett shoved a baseball cap on her head, dressed in the family's jersey in preparation for their game. She smiled as she watched her brother enter the field, but it faltered as she saw his human girlfriend

Esme turned with a bright smaller "Glad you're here, we need an umpire"

Emmet laughed "She thinks we cheat"

"I know you cheat" Esme deadpanned before looking at Bella again "Call 'em as you see 'em, Bella!"

As everyone took their places, lighting struck, a deafening roar of thunder following. Alice smiled as she announced "It's time"

Alice winded up and threw the ball in a flash if white. Rosalie hit the ball, sounding like the thunder around them. She dropped the bat and took off running. 

Bella watched in shock and fascination "Okay now I see why you need the thunder" she tells Esme.

Edward took off after the ball, and Bella found herself unable to keep up with his speed "It's gonna be a homerun, right?" She asked. Esme gave her a skeptical look and a shake of her head

"Edward's very fast" she replied cryptically, watching as Edward scooped up the ball from the dump grass, throwing it towards Esme.

Carlisle yelled encouragement to his teammate, and the ball reached Esme's hand the same time Rosalie made it to home base. Everyone looked to Bella, awaiting her ruling as umpire.

"You're out" Bella said softly, watching as Emmett and Delphine cheered happily "Out!"

When they saw the annoyed look on Rosalie's face, they tried to make her feel better. Emmett called "Hey, c'mon. It's just a game, babe" as Delphi only shrugged happily

Rosalie glared at Bella as she returned to her spot, prompting Carlisle to call playfully "Nice kitty!" As he took his place in front of Alice, ready to bat next.

The game continued, Carlisle making a home run because of Emmett and Edwards competitive nature causing them to collide in search of the ball

Jasper flipped his bat playfully as he looked towards Alice, ready to bat. She smirked and kicked high, gaining momentum to throw the ball once again. When the ball goes airborne, Emmett is quick to scale a tree, catching the ball and throwing it back towards the game.

Rosalie sighed dreamily as she watched his with a smile "My monkey man"

After Rosalie hits the next ball, Alice is quick to stop, calling the game to a halt as well "Stop!"

Edward looks up, suddenly alert of the present danger. Everybody runs towards Bella, ready to protect her

Alice nervously stated "They were leaving, then they heard us"

Edward looked at Bella, telling her "Let's go." But Carlisle shook his head "It's too late."

Edward placed his baseball hat on Bella's head "Put your hair down."

Rosalie scoffed, unhappy about their interrupted game "Like that'll help. I could smell her from across the field."

Delphine nodded "She does smell quite.... Pungent"

Edward ignored his siblings comments, telling Bella apologetically"I shouldn't have brought you here. I'm so sorry."

"What?" Bella asked nervously, but Edward was quick to shush her.

"Just be quiet," he told her softly "stand by me."

Three vampires entered the field, all dressed in dirty, slightly tatthered clothing. A dark skinned man leads the group, followed by a tall redhead woman and a dirty blond man. Delphine rolled her eyes as she saw the last man staring at her, with seeming hunger in his eyes

The dark skinned man held up the lost baseball, that Rosalie had previously hit into the woods "I believe this belongs to you" before throwing the ball at lightning fast speed.

Carlisle caught the ball effortlessly and replied "Thank you"

The leader of the other coven smiled politely and introduced his group "I'm Laurent, and this is Victoria, and James" he gestures the the two behind him

Carlisle watched the three grimly but replied politely "I'm afraid your hunting activities have...caused something of  a mess for us"

Laurent tilted his head "Our apologies. We didn't realize the territory had been claimed."

"Yes, well, we maintain a permanent residence nearby." Carlisle told him, making Laurent's eyes light up on fascination and shock

"Really?" He exclaimed, before looking at James bad Victoria. He seemed to sense the tension between James and Edward as they glared at everyone "Well, we won't be a problem anymore, we were just passing through"

Victoria nodded smugly "The humans were tracking us, but we led them east. You should be safe."

Carlisle smiled and replied "Excellent."

"So...could you use three more players?" Lauren sensed his hesitation and "Oh, come on. Just one game."

Carlisle glances in Edward's direction as he replied hesitantly "Sure, why not? A few of us were leaving, you can take their place. We'll bat first." He tossed the baseball at Laurent suddenly

Victoria flashed to stand in front of Laurent, catching the ball as she smirked at the coven "I'm the one with the wicked curve ball."

Jasper chuckled "Oh well I think we can handle that"

The redhead only shrugged "We shall see." As everybody starts to walk away, James and Edward continue their stares. A sudden gust of wind blows though The clearing, ruffling Bella's hair. James looks at Bella with a dark glare "You brought a snack"

The Cullens jump back in front of Bella protectively as Esme pushes Bella behind. Delphine didn't want to protect the pathetic human, but she didn't want to see her brother get upset.

"You're human?" Laurent exclaimed

"The girl is with us. I think it best if you leave." Carlisle declared with a forced politeness in his tone.
Laurent  nodded in agreement "I can see the game is over. We'll go now." As they began to walk away, James remained in his spot "James?" He reluctantly followed.

Carlisle spoke to Edward without looking away from the direction Laurent and his coven went "Get Bella out of here. Go."

Delphine watched as the couple ran back to Emmett's jeep, the same sinking feeling returning to her stomach as when she had first met the human girl.
