"I will obtain her!" Kai gritted his teeth hatefully.
All of a sudden, Somi's phone rang. She answered the call before speaking in excitement. "Brother, Mother, did you know? I asked someone to investigate and I found out that Jennie actually purchased ten different haunted apartments today! It would really be strange if the Manoban family's luck isn't affected by this."
"Ten apartments..." Kai frowned. "Did she go insane?"
"Think about it. Her mother's corpse was buried under the storeroom where she lived for seven to eight years. It's such a frightening matter. I bet she must have had trouble putting that trauma down." A hint of viciousness flashed past Somi's eyes. "Even if she manages to put it down, we must convince everyone that she has yet to."
"When she's stuck in a difficult spot in the Manoban family..." Kai patted his own arm. "I'll lend her my shoulder to lean on."
"Brother, I'll help you again when that happens. You'll have to hold tightly onto the opportunity to obtain Jennie's heart."
"Don't worry."
...
The next morning, when Jennie woke up, Lisa was sleeping right by her side.
She took in his sleeping profile. His eyelashes were long and his nose was sharp. His thick brows were relaxed and his expression was not stern as it usually was. Instead, he gave off a languid charisma.
Sensing her gaze, Lisa opened his eyes.
His eyes were truly as stunning as a pair of obsidian gemstones. It was a pity that his gaze was often too sharp and cold. His one glance always left everyone in fear.
However, whenever he looked at her, the feelings conveyed through his gaze were sufficient to drown her.
He stretched his arm and brought her into his embrace, burrowing into her neck and breathing in her scent. "My wife, you smell so good!"
His words lifted her mood up. She gently caressed his face. "That's right, I'm your wife now."
Although there was still some time till their wedding, they were already a lawfully wedded couple.
However, aside from Bambam, no one else was aware of this matter.
Since their wedding was impending, she could not be bothered to bring this up to anyone.
She laid in his arms and scrolled through the news on her phone.
All of a sudden, she noticed an eye-catching news headline from a small media website.
[The future Madam Manoban purchased ten haunted apartments with the money she received from the Manoban family's elders. What were her reasons for doing so?]
She tapped on the headlines and found that the article actually wrote that she had purchased ten different haunted apartments in the Mian Lan North District. The author claimed that she had done so for the sake of obtaining the Manoban family's authority as soon as possible. The Manoban family's luck was too strong, and as per the article, she was intentionally trying to ruin it through the possession of those haunted apartments.
They even criticised her for having gone mentally unhinged after spending eight years in a room where her mother's corpse was buried.
The comment section was filled with criticisms for her. They reprimanded Jennie for being so vicious.
A few smarter netizens pointed out that perhaps, the future Madam Manoban had her reasons for buying those apartments?
Jennie was angered for around thirty seconds before the emotions faded into indifference.
The current her wasn't as easily angered as she used to get in the past.
Lisa glanced at her phone and frowned unhappily. "The journalists these days are truly fearless! They even dare to write these things."
Jennie rested her chin against her palm and asked. "Do you believe in what they wrote?"
"Is there even a need to ask?" He tapped on her sharp nose.
"I don't understand what you mean..." She pouted.
