A raging storm surrounds a cathedral as raindrops explode against the stone structure, while the cracks of thunder and lightning echo across the cavern. As the subterranean weather phenomenon continues, its cacophony is soon joined by the shrieks of two sentinels, the pair's necks chained to a stalagmite, preventing them from entering the building as a banner reading, Leased RSCH015 "CABIN FEVER", flutters in the wind.
Within the cathedral, humans in hazmat suits frantically run about the candle-lit building while one wearing a bishop's headdress and robe over her protective gear calls out, "Science holding strong, sir!" As the woman looks up from the monitors, she sees Nori chained in midair at the altar, objects floating around her as she bares an unhinged smile and stares with bright yellow eyes.
In front of this scene, another human in a blue hazmat suit and miner's helmet looks around before pointing to himself, realizing the woman is addressing him as she speaks up again, "Doctor Chambers!" That's when he notices the name tag he's wearing, then turns to the dressers and sees his actual suit still on the hanger, revealing him to be a mere intern, "O-Oh no. I'm n-not..." he then points to the name tag on his chest and whispers to the woman, "Is this guy important?"
Before he can get a response, shadowy versions of the mechanical pincers emerge from Nori's back and snap the chains holding her. Then one appendage rips a metal decoration off the wall and throws it like a spear at the intern, the spike knocking the clipboard out of his hands. As chaos ensues, someone activates a magnet, forcing Nori to the ground while floodlights activate, beating back a swarm of mechanical appendages that retreat into the worker drone.
While the other humans try to regain control, the woman throws an identification card with Yeva's picture on it to the intern, "Chambers! Get 048!" Fumbling to catch the object, the man attempts to get some information on what he's supposed to do if he's replacing the real Doctor Chambers, "Right, so... This a doctor-specific thing?" Ignoring him, the regally dressed human pulls out a cross as a USB pops out the bottom and she approaches the worker drone. Realizing he won't get an answer, the intern quickly replies to the request, "'Cause I'm on it!"
Rushing out of the cathedral and dodging the snapping jaws of the sentinels, the intern looks back to see Nori staring directly at him before the doors slam shut while he enters a mine shaft and runs to the lockers, only stopping upon reaching one labeled 048. Opening it, he finds Yeva chained inside it, the worker drone giving him an annoyed glare while he points to the ID card before shrugging, the response causes the machine to bang her head against the wall.
As the two run back to the now-darkened cathedral, the intern notices that the sentinels are all gone just as Yeva smacks his hand away, irritated that he had been holding hers the whole time. Bursting into the building, the human immediately senses something's off despite everything seeming to be under control, with the woman calling out to him as she's kneeling over Nori who now has the cross firmly jammed into her visor, "Chambers! Get over here!"
Following his gut, the man closes the door behind him before Yeva can enter, much to the worker drone's confusion, while addressing the woman, "Yup, um... So, I... Couldn't find 048." Strangely, the woman doesn't seem bothered as she replies with an impatient tone, "Whatever!" only caring that the intern come closer. With nervousness racking his body, he slowly begins approaching as a few things glitch out around him, "Right, uh... here I... come." Just as he reaches the halfway point, he notices the USB cross on the ground accompanied by the woman, who is now missing an arm.
Realizing the illusion is broken, a mechanical tentacle pulls the woman away and into a fleshy hole surrounded by ribs as the hologram disappears, revealing the massacre that occurred. As things fall around him, the man grabs the cross just as Nori emerges from the pit, riding a mechanical tendril as others follow behind her. Stepping off, two robotic mantis arms burst from the worker drone's back and begin dragging across the ground as Cyn's voice comes out of Nori, "Thanks for the new host. Intern." Using the absolute solver, the machine rips away the cross from the man's hands and throws it back at him at immense speeds while she calls out "MacGuffin."
