As Ni-ki struggled to find his footing on the ice rink, Sunghoon watched patiently from the sidelines, his eyes trained on his roommate's clumsy attempts. With each wobble and near-fall, Sunghoon felt a twinge of concern, but he refrained from intervening, allowing Ni-ki to learn at his own pace.
Suddenly, Ni-ki stumbled, his arms flailing as he teetered precariously on the edge of falling. Sunghoon's heart skipped a beat as he sprang into action, swiftly skating over to Ni-ki's side and extending a hand to help him regain his balance.
But instead of accepting Sunghoon's assistance, Ni-ki threw himself into Sunghoon's arms, enveloping him in a tight hug. "Please teach me how," Ni-ki pleaded, his voice muffled against Sunghoon's chest.
Sunghoon was taken aback by Ni-ki's unexpected display of vulnerability, but he pushed aside his surprise and focused on helping Ni-ki stand upright on the ice. With a firm grip, Sunghoon guided Ni-ki's movements, steadying him as he navigated the slippery surface.
"If you want to skate properly, do it confidently. If you feel like you're going to fall, just fall. Don't try to regain your balance forcefully; it will only make it harder," Sunghoon advised, his words the longest he had spoken to Ni-ki since their arrival.
Ni-ki's eyes widened in astonishment at Sunghoon's rare show of verbosity. "That was the longest sentence you've said to me since yesterday!" he exclaimed, a hint of excitement in his voice.
Throughout the day, Sunghoon patiently coached Ni-ki, offering guidance and support as they practiced together. Despite Ni-ki's numerous falls, Sunghoon remained by his side, never once wavering in his determination to help Ni-ki improve.
As night fell, they finally retreated from the ice rink, shedding their skating shoes and slipping into their regular footwear. Sunghoon scanned the area, noticing the absence of their coach. It seemed they had been left alone, given the freedom to enjoy their time together without supervision.
Just as Sunghoon was about to suggest they head home, Ni-ki surprised him by wrapping him in a warm hug. "Thanks for today, Sunghoon-san. I had so much fun," Ni-ki said earnestly, his gratitude evident in his voice.
Sunghoon was momentarily taken aback by the gesture, but he quickly composed himself, offering a soft pat on Ni-ki's head. "You're... you're welcome," he replied, his words tinged with a hint of uncertainty. As Ni-ki pulled away, Sunghoon couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth blossom within him, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
(As you can see, Sunghoon loves patting younger one's heads in here)
