The Library || Jisoo

Hong Jisoo is a nineteen year old boy who lives in Los Angeles, California. Born and raised in the states, he is a Korean boy who loves to read, sleep, and the most important thing in his life is, music. As for Jisoo who wants to become a musician, he's stuck here in this town with a part time job in his local town's public library.

Jisoo was daydreaming about singing in front of thousands of people on stage. Him playing the guitar; singing one of his favourite songs, the crowd cheering for him after he performed, and---

"Jisoo? hellooo? earth to Jisoo? you there?"

Reality suddenly hit him as his friend Hansol tapped him on the shoulder.

They were both walking out from the convenience store, where they bought some snacks and drinks to eat at their part time job; a public library called "BookStore". The library was owned by a 73 year old woman called Mrs. Lockhart. It mat be a boring name for a public library, but they both had the jobs there since the start of summer; which was two weeks ago.
For money, of course.

"What? Yeah! I'm okay! What's up?" Jisoo slightly shook his head to snap out of his silly daydream.

"Really man? do I have to say it again?"
Jisoo nodded with an apologetic face, making Hansol roll his eyes at him and repeat the sentence that Jisoo missed.

"I said, what time was your shift from today at the library?"

"At around, like, 3:30 to 6:30 PM? yeah."

"Oh. My shift is the same as yours today. I'm lucky because I get to go with you to the library; and to mention that the old woman who owns the place won't even let us be together for even three shifts in a row!" Hansol said, screaming out his frustration making his voice crack at the end. Jisoo burst out in laughter as Hansol started to hit his arm.

"Okay,okay! i'll stop laughing! sorry!"

"Good. Because you better be." Hansol smirked.

As their voices toned down, they made their way to the stairway leading to the stoplight near the library.

"You do know that you're two years younger than me right Hansol?" Jisoo said, slightly smirking. He was clearly trying to remind Hansol that he shouldn't hit him again like that because it actually hurt.

"Yeah, I do... Why?" Hansol said, confused.

"Because if you hit me again i swear--"

"Yeah yeah, you'll kill me. But Jisoo, my man, you never do." Hansol said as he patted Jisoo on the shoulder like he was the younger one.

As Jisoo rolled his eyes at Hansol, He looked at his phone to see what time it was whilst walking through the pedestrian lane at the stoplight.

"Shit. Shit shit shit shit shit." Jisoo started pacing and Hansol lightly ran after him.

"What's the matter--"

"It's 3:28--29. Mrs. Lockhart's gonna kill us!" Jisoo interrupted.

They started to run to get to the library to prevent themselves for getting scolded by Mrs. Lockhart.

Again.

As Hansol and Jisoo ran for their lives just to get in time for their part time jobs, they finally got to BookStore.

Panting as they burst inside the door, they were greeted by an upset Mrs. Lockhart.

"Late again?! What am I supposed to do with you both!" said Mrs. Lockhart who was clearly frustrated, angry, yet tired of the two. She had no choice but to forgive them and walk away like she always does, because Hansol, Jisoo, and her husband; who was the man who fixed the lightbulbs and such things, were the only ones who were working for the library.

"We're sorry Mrs. Lockhart." Hansol said, following with Jisoo who mumbled a quick sorry.

"Ohhh you better be!"

As Mrs. Lockhart turned around to leave the two young boys alone to their workplaces (which was arranging books alphabetically from their shelves, cleaning, checking out books that people want to borrow, and last but not least, guarding the library. Basically just standing at the counter).

"Let the work begin." Jisoo announced to Hansol, who was already getting both of their BookStore aprons; or should I say, uniforms from the closet.
