Chapter 44 - Texts And Rows

Charlotte was getting annoyed with Tom and all the drinking he was doing lately, she didn't mind him having the odd drink when they were out for meals or over at Chloe and Max's but when he was drinking in the house in front of the kids.

That morning Chloe was taking the day off as Aubree had been throwing up all night. Max came down and saw Aubree lying on the sofa so he walked into the kitchen where Chloe was "is she alright?" Chloe turned to him "well, she's gone an hour and half without puking so I say we're getting somewhere" Max nodded "where's Isla?" Chloe grinned and pointed to under the table "she's there" Max smirked and kissed Chloe and his daughters before leaving.

Charlotte had told Max that Tom was unwell but he was hungover so Max had told Charlotte that Tom didn't have to go in. While Tom was still in bed Charlotte saw his phone and decided to check his messages -

Tom - Did I mention that Charlotte is amazing in bed. Some of the stuff she does can keep a guy up all night.

Max - Chloe is the same. She wouldn't want me telling this.

Tom - Secret between us men.

Charlotte couldn't read anymore as they were getting rather rude. Charlotte was disgusted at the texts between Tom and Max, she had the feeling that Chloe didn't know so she decided to call her -

Call Begins

Chloe - Hey, what's up?

Charlotte - Are you okay?

Chloe - Yeah, cleaning Aubree's puke up. Poor thing has been throwing up all night.

Charlotte - Awh, is she okay?

Chloe - Yeah sickness bug. Anyways I'm assuming there's a reason you called so spill.

Charlotte - Tom is hungover in bed so I read his text messages and some of them between him and Max are incredibly rude. They're what you and I are like in bed. Tom and Max were encouraging each other to tell.

Chloe - You're kidding me

Charlotte - I'll screenshot them and send them to you.

Chloe - Thanks hon, Max is a dead man walking.

Charlotte - Haha, I'll text you later, Give Aubree a hug from me.

Chloe - I will but I might get puked on.

Charlotte - Okay, Speak soon
Call Ends.

Charlotte hung up and sighed "mummy can we go see Aubree?" Charlotte smiled "Aubree's poorly, she's being sick" Taitlyn sighed "okay" Charlotte grinned "go and play with Jacob" Taitlyn nodded and she toddled off to play.

Chloe was fuming. She couldn't believe that Tom and Max had been discussing what she and Charlotte were like in bed. As Aubree and Isla were both sleeping Chloe decided to not say anything to Max until he came back.

Rachel had offered to have Aubree and Isla as a way of apologising to Chloe for what had happened the other night. Chloe told her that Aubree had been unwell but Rachel was adamant that she would keep an eye on her.  

Tom eventually got out of bed and it was lunchtime "afternoon" Tom gave a small smile "my head is banging" Charlotte nodded "it would be, you were drinking" Tom sighed "I'm sorry" Charlotte shrugged "it's fine".

Rachel had puck Aubree and Isla up and she had taken them back to hers. When they got there Aubree sat on the sofa and Rachel went to speak with Eddie "how is the little madam?" Rachel smiled "she's fine, she reminds me of Chloe at the age" Eddie grinned "did you and Chloe sort things out?" Rachel sighed "it's like Max has brainwashed her" Eddie nodded "I don't think he did" Rachel again sighed "Max never wanted Aubree to begin with. He only pretends he does just to keep Chloe in his bed. As for Isla she wasn't planned" Rachel heard Aubree crying and knew she must have heard what had been said "Aubree come here" Aubree came in "I want my mummy" Eddie puck her up "you're staying here tonight" Aubree shook her head "no want too, I want my mummy" Eddie sighed.

Charlotte had made Tom a sandwhich "thanks" Charlotte nodded "okay" Tom frowned "is everything okay?" Charlotte nodded "yeah, it's fine" Tom nodded "have you spoke to Chloe?" Charlotte looked up "yeah, I called her this morning, we had something to discuss" Tom had confusion etched on his face "what stuff?" Charlotte shrugged "that doesn't matter but Max will be finding out very soon" Tom was confused as Charlotte walked out the kitchen.

Max returned and noticed the blinds were closed so he walked in and saw Chloe sitting on the sofa "ah, you're back" Max was confused "is everything okay?" Chloe stood from the sofa and walked over to him wrapping her arms around his neck "I have something for you" Max smirked as Chloe led him over to the sofa she  pushed him down and climbed onto his lap before whispering into his ear "I know about the text messages" Chloe got off him and scoffed "I know what you and Tom talk about" Max sighed "you weren't supposed to know" Chloe shrugged "I do, and the fact you were both encouraging each other to spill, well that's just not normal" Max stood and walked over to her "I'm sorry" Chloe looked at him "don't even attempt to suck up, it won't work" Max smirked "I think it will" Chloe rolled her eyes "yeah right Max".

Charlotte wasn't going to say anything to Tom about the texts as she wanted him to tell her. Walking into the kitchen she saw he was making dinner "what's all this in aid of?" Tom smiled "I wanna show my love for you" Charlotte smiled and called the kids down.

Chloe was sitting outside in the sun as she didn't want to be around Max, she had no idea what the time was when her phone rang, looking she saw it was her mum -

Call Begins

Chloe - Is everything okay?

Rachel - Aubree is crying to come home.

Chloe - I'll come and get them. Thanks for calling

Rachel - Isla is fine, we'll keep her.

Chloe - Okay.

Rachel - See you soon love
Call Ends

Chloe hung up and sighed, she stood from her lounger and made her way inside "where you going?" Chloe looked at Max "fetch Aubree, she's crying to come back" Max nodded "I'll go with you" Chloe shrugged "okay, my mum is keeping Isla" Max again nodded.

Arriving at her mum's Max said that he would wait there. Entering the house Chloe heard Aubree crying "what happened?" Rachel sighed and Aubree came over "nanny said that daddy only wants me to keep you in his bed and that Isla wasn't planned and that daddy doesn't want me" Chloe looked at her mum "you said that?" Rachel sighed "Chloe, I didn't mean for her to overhear" Chloe scoffed "I swear everyone is doing stuff to just annoy me" Rachel frowned "is everything okay?" Chloe nodded "yeah, do me a favour. Don't offer to have them again" Rachel was shocked "Chloe, I'm sorry" Chloe shrugged "saying stuff like that in front of Aubree is gonna mess her head up. You can keep Isla tonight and I'll pick her up, least you can't mess her head up".

Charlotte and Tom wound up in bed "that was unexpected" Tom laughed "yeah but it was great" Charlotte kissed him "I think I love you" Tom grinned "you think?" Charlotte nodded and laughed "yeah, I think" Tom kissed her before they both fell asleep.

Chloe put Aubree to bed after once again telling her that Max did want her. Once Aubree was asleep she went downstairs "I'm sorry" Chloe shrugged "that doesn't matter Max, what matters is convincing our little girl that we do want her" Max nodded "we'll prove it to her" Chloe smiled "I think I might head up to bed, early night" Max nodded "I'll be up soon" Chloe kissed him before heading up to bed. When Max came up Chloe was fast asleep so he undressed and climbed into bed next to her and fell asleep.
