I woke up and did my usual routine in the bathroom. As I padded out into the kitchen Piccolo came out of his room. He was just wearing his gi, seems that's what he wears as comfortable clothes. I greeted him while I began to make my breakfast. He sat down at the kitchen island, watching me.

"We'll be continuing your training when you're done," he told me.

"Alright," I answered, then remembered something. "Oh, there's actually something I want to show you before that. I can do a neat new thing with my ki."

"Oh?"

"Yup, it's something earth and I have been working on. Would you like tea?"

"Just water. Can you finally fly?"

I sighed ashamedly as I put his cup of water in front of him, "No... but you'll think it's cool. I hope."

He just smiled, amused. I sat next to him while eating, in comfortable silence. Once done I got into my gi and met Piccolo outside. I crouched next to a flower that I planted, waving him over.

"Check this out," I excitedly said. I ran my hands gently across the ground around the sprout. The ground faintly glowed with ki, enriching the soil. "I can infuse the ground by moving the earth's ki around. If we come back to this plant later it'll be bigger."

Piccolo looked incredibly shocked, "I had no idea that was possible."

"It's only something I can do I believe. It requires connection with earth's ki, or at the very least earth's permission to move their ki."

"Well aren't you special."

"You could probably do it if you really tried."

"How do you do it? You just say you connect to earth, but what does that mean?"

"Simply put, I match my ki to earth's ki. It's sort of like when two sounds have the same frequency. They are separate sounds but blend together seamlessly, as if they became one."

"Hm," he pondered. I think I just gave him his next training goal. Or at least research. "Does that mean you can match someone else's ki, like mine?"

"Huh, never thought to do that. Would be worth researching later. We should probably get started on training."

He agreed and we went to our training spot. "You're still tasked with hitting me."

I just nodded and we got started. While I still couldn't hit him I could tell I was a lot faster. I went for a hit, and obviously missed. But when Piccolo went for the counter to sweep my feet I was actually able to jump over his leg. I paused for a second when I landed. Then I looked at Piccolo, ecstatic.

"Did you see that? I managed to dodge you!"

He gave me an amused look, "Good job, you've definitely gotten faster. It shouldn't be too long before you're really ready to spar."

"Soon enough I'll be stronger than you," I joked. He gave a half hearted scoff as a sort of laugh. Then he gave me a thoughtful look.

"It is strange that you can infuse ki into dirt but can't fly. That seems much more difficult considering I didn't know you could."

"Well it isn't really my ki. I haven't been able to increase my personal ki since I got here," I began to explain, causing him to be surprised. "What happens is I use my ki to dire-"

*laughing* you finally figured it out

I stood in shock from the realization. Then I lifted off the ground as I moved earth's ki around to allow me to fly. "I have to direct earth's ki. I finally figured it out!"

I did a backward loop and on the way up I flew up to Piccolo to hug him but I stopped right in front of him. "Sorry, I was gonna hug you but I thought better of it."

He blushed an intense purple. I began to float away but then he put his hand on top of my head. He blushed even harder, as if that wasn't really what he intended. I put my hand on his and moved it to cup my cheek, sighing happily into his hand.

We just stayed like that for a few moments before I decided to release him. Keeping his hand in mine until I floated a little away. I walked back to the house like I was in low gravity, bounding with light taps of my feet. I called back that I was having lunch and Piccolo stayed outside.

As I made lunch, earth discussed what was expected of me now that I got ki figured out. I was essentially earth's warden, I would be the one to get involved if things don't play out as they should. Also, I would spend time every day to help earth just do what they do.

There was just one interesting side effect, my ki would basically be unreadable from then on. Earth's ki was just overpowering mine since I basically had as much as like Chi-Chi.

"Oh I guess I should probably tell Piccolo then," I said aloud, finishing up my food.

"Tell me what," he asked, walking into the house. I told him what we had discussed as he sat beside me. He didn't seem too happy about not being able to sense me.

"Well I'll still be able to contact you through telepathy."

"What if you aren't conscious?"

I leaned back in my chair, thinking. "I don't know if this'll work but let me give you a tiny amount of my ki." I leaned over to him, tapping my lightly glowing finger on his chest. "Can you tell where I am?"

"How did that work?"

"It's directing your ki to me, like how I direct earth."

"That makes no sense."

"We can fly and shoot lasers, that's what is gonna make you question things? It works so who cares." I cleaned up my dishes in the kitchen. "Oh since that is my personal ki, if something really really bad happens then I'll have to take it back."

We spent the rest of the day training, until it was too dark for us to continue. As I made dinner, Piccolo took a shower. He came out without a shirt on. I was frozen with my fork in front of my mouth as I took him in. Now that we were a thing I felt free to gawk.

He coughed to break me out of my trance, my face flushed. I ate, suddenly embarrassed. He chuckled, sitting next to me and lightly stroked my back. I took my own shower and spent some time organizing my studio. Then it was bed time.
