"How are things right now, man?" Ethan asks, him being in the living room of the lake house seated on the couch, it being late at night so the door decided to just take a rest night given the news.
"It's...well she's in surgery now." Brett replies. "Sam made the right call even though....fuck..."
"He prioritized the baby didn't he?"
"It's what Susan would've want. But that doesn't stop it from being so damn hard if...."
Ethan swallows. "You can't think like that, Brett."
"I know I know." He sighs. "The boys are all trying to talk to Enzo but he's livid, Dad is livid but he's scared at the same time.....the girls can't stop crying and....Jesus I don't know what to do. I fucking hate this sitting duck game."
"Susan is strong man, look at all she has endured." Ethan says. "She's going to pull through, her and the baby. Plus Zayn is the best doctor in Europe...I'm sure things are going to turn up."
"Yeah." Brett sighs. "How's Elio?"
"He's....Jesus I don't even know...he hasn't said anything since the news." Ethan replies, looking across the way behind him at Elio in the kitchen. "He's making himself a drink, I can't even blame the kid. How's Sam?"
"His daughter is missing and his wife is in surgery where she could possibly...." Brett trails off with a harsh swallow, staring over at Sam who sits in his chair with a defeated and exhausted expression on his face, the back of his head being leaned against the wall as he knees rock. "How do you think he is?"
"Right...dumb question."
"How's the search going?"
"Kind of hard since the trail runs cold after those tire screech marks. Whoever did this made sure to cover their tracks, but we'll find something."
"Sasha please stop crying." Annabelle says, her and Sabrina being in the room that Max is in, Sabrina getting done braiding her hair. "I hate it when you cry."
"I'm so scared." Sasha sniffles.
Sabrina looks around the room while Annabelle talks to Sasha on the phone, her going over to the shelf and going to look at the different gift boxes on the shelf, her slowly picking up the black gift box that has her name on it.
"I got you something."
"Is that right?"
"Yeah, I know you will love it. I'll bring it to you in a few weeks when I come back to see my future little brother or sister." Max explains.
