(Mild trigger warning. Just talking about the cliff diving scene)
Delphine sighed as she answered her phone. Garrett stood behind her, feeding from a human. While he continued with his normal diet during her visit, Delphine still drank from animals.
"What Alice?" She asked, stepping away from the bloody scene behind her.
"It's Bella" she said in a panicky, high pitched tone.
"...what about her?" Delphine asked, growing more annoyed. She already had to deal with her brother's dramatic calls, declaring his undying love for her.
"She jumped off a cliff"
"WHAT?" Delphine shouted.
"I don't know what happened. I'm going back to Forks to see for myself, meet me there" Alicd told her. She wanted to refuse, but the desperate tone in her voice suggested she shouldn't.
"I'll catch the next flight down there" Delphine told her with a sigh. She hung up the phone and looked to Garrett, who now had blood smeared across his lips "Gotta go, but I'll be back" she told him casually
"Bye love, I'll be waiting" he told her with a joking smirk. Delphine scoffed at the flirty tone and walked off, into the night

Bella's rusted orange truck pulls up to the curb. It's pitch black outside.
Bella shivered as she recovered from the shock of seeing Victoria while cliff diving, and the cold water she fell into for a landing. Jacob is still holding her close as he shuts the engine off.
"So... " Bella broke the silence finally "this wolf thing's not all bad?"
Jacob shook his head "It's better now that you know. But..." He trailed off.
"But....?"
"It just comes so easily to me" He finally admitted with a sigh "More than the other guys"
"That's a good thing, isn't it?" Bella asked in confusion
"Maybe. Or it makes me less" he spoke again quietly after a beat "Human than the others. Sometimes I'm scared I might.. disappear, you know? Who I really am"
Bella turned to look him in the eyes, before telling him in a serious tone "I won't let that happen.
Their faces are close, and stay close for a moment. They could kiss, their lips getting closer.
But Bella blinks herself back to reality and pulls away.
"Thanks for driving" Bella says awkwardly "for everything"
As she opens her door, a breeze wafts into the cab. Jacob immediately smells something and reaches over, slamming Bella's door closed.
"Holy crap!" He shouted at the stance. Bella watched him in confusion, until he said "There's a bloodsucker out there."
"How do you know?" She questioned.
"I can smell the stink." He said through clenched teeth "I'm getting you out of here."
As Jacob cranks up the truck, the headlights illuminate a black Mercedes parked in front of Bella's house. She spins to the rear window as Jacob floors it.
"Stop!" Bella exclaimed "It's not Victoria. It's Carlisle's car! They're here, go back-"
"It's a trick-" Jacob tells her
She ignores him and instead jumps out of the truck
"Damn it, Bella" Jacob shouted
Bella hurries up the driveway toward her house. Jacob's
suddenly standing in front of her, furious at her reckless behavior.
"Stop." He tells her as he gets out of the car "You gotta come with me"
"It's okay." She tried to reason "They're my friends"
"Don't you get it?" He tells her "If a Cullen is back here, this is their territory. The Treaty says we can only defend our own lands."
"It's not a war-"
"It is." He interrupted her "And you'll only be safe in La Push. I can't protect you here anymore. You're about to cross a line-out"
"Only if you draw one." She insisted .
She starts to move past him, but he blocks her path.
"I'm not letting you do this."
"You don't have a choice." She argued "I don't belong to you."
Her words were a knife to the heart. She sees that, but
can't take them back. He hands her the keys.
Jacob shook his head and turned "Bye, Bella, I hope you don't die."
She flinches at the stinging remark. He disappears into the
darkness, leaving her alone on the dark driveway.
She's closer to her house than her truck, so she hurries
forward, and into the house. She comes face-to-face with Alice, and they both gape at the other in shock. Delphine stood behind her with her arms crossed, watching the interaction
