He is here again. They? Their form is that of a man, but can that really be trusted?
It doesn't matter much.
I wish I knew how to call out to them.
The steps I take make no sound. This place has no echo at all. There is not much of anything here. If it wasn't for the other's presence; it would be easy to lose your mind here.
It's foggy. Like one's memory. The further you walk, the more you fade from sight. In this case, though, it is how they emerged from the horizon. Is there even a horizon?
I walk closer to the bundled up figure in the ground. It is like a piece of art that you'd see in a museum.
I kneel next to them; their royal blue silhouette clearly clueless to what's behind them.
I can tell their swirling emotions. Conflicted. Complicated. I feel all of this just by raising my hand towards them. Just by reaching out. I glance at my own hand; a very muted blue. Almost gray. I could almost feel jealous of how bright his blue is if I didn't feel their conflicting emotions that came with it.
Desperation. One that is almost like a silent praying. Begging. A type of desperation that would easily crumble down into complete despair if challenged.
My hand finally came into contact with their shoulder. Their emotions so vividly tranfering to me that it could almost pass as my own.
The figure paused and whipped their head up. It's not like they physically felt the touch, like it was a tap on the shoulder. It notified them by a new set of emotions that wasn't their's invading in without warning.
They faced me. I wish I could see their face.
Suddenly, they embraced me. Their royal blue flushing to a sky blue, and their emotions of relief washed over me.
My arms wrapped around the figure in my embrace. I glance down to my arms; it's a little lighter now. I guess we are almost matching colors. It's kind of nice.
Who am I trying to fool?
It's so nice I could just stay like this forever.
But like every day, one of us fades suddenly. Fades from the embrace; leaving the other emptier than they came.
It feels like eternity before you get to fade as well and wake up to the real world. Instead of seeing these colorful emotions, you see just reality.
I glance over at my bedside table. Next to my phone lies a bright orange bottle that is almost empty. I sigh.
"...again."
