You had completely switched the game around in less than an hour- "Haa...haa..haa" you were so out of breath that your vision was getting hazy Your heart was pounding against your chest, every heave every huff- it just made everything even more blurry
There was three minutes left, you needed one more point to win the game. You stood up straight and caught the ball someone passed to you
The way you've been getting your team points... was simply just because of your serves, you had fixed your aim and adjusted your wrists to match with it- it was practically impossible to save the ball because the ball would curve and spin so weirdly
"Last- one-" you huffed. You might've been on something, but after the talk with yuna, it was just like your last tournament, the ball was talking to you and right now it was saying..
'Focus on strength this time, do what you do best' why strength? When you used all of it yuna would just save the ball somehow... without bumping it
You serve the ball but you got blocked "huh?" You whispered tiredly
Nagi noticed how tired you were, he didn't blame you. All you were doing for the past thirty minutes was toss, jump, hit and you were working your brain a lot since your aim got better
Now he noticed what changed, your control over the ball- it's like you got a boost You grabbed the bottom of your shirt and used it to wipe away the sweat on your face
Nagi's thoughts got interrupted by the sight, his eyes almost flew out of its sockets. You had a belly piercing? And a tattoo!
The tattoo was your signature- "daughter tatoro?.." kurina laughs and pats nagi's back "I forgot you've never seen her tattoo, she got it when she finally accepted the fact she wasn't of the beauty standard. And the idea was that she signed her masterpiece... which is obviously her abs" kurina grinned, the idea was so genius to her
Your jersey dropped down again, covering your stomach. You took a deep breath and closed your eyes Nagi didn't notice that it was now tied, 17-17
Back to you, you were praying on yuna's downfall. The both of you were sweaty like white grandpas ballsacks after a two minute run
You glared at her, she was panting as well. The both of you knew you too were both trying to impress the same guy. You felt pathetic for competing with another girl over a guy but- you were winning... he only hugged you, only talked to you, only texted you, only played with only looked at you
'If I win this I'm rocking nagi in bed tonight' you thought as you crossed your fingers
Someone on the other team serves and Mei ends up receiving it- bumping it into the air. You set it to no one in particular 'please someone touch it so I don't do double touch'
Someone jumps and grazed their fingers on it, now it's not double touch. You grinned and spiked the ball on the other side
17-18 one more point. Kurina jumps from her seat and stands at the edge of the court "You got this y/n! If you win I'm doordashing you!" You smirked at her lazily and blew her a kiss of appreciation, this is why kurina was your twin flame
Someone on your team serves, the other team bumps, yuna jumps to spike it, someone dove- but completely missed the ball. Mei used her foot to kick the ball higher into the air
You could make that jump, maybe mess up your knee again but who cares? Anything for the food!
Nagi stands up "no way she's gonna jump" he muttered
You placed your arms behind your back, jumped, swung your right arm- the other being used as a guide and you slapped the ball onto the other court
The students in your school jumped into roars
Kurina sprints to you and stands beside you as you tiredly did your little celebration together "Ayy oh!" Kurina stops moving and starts sliding her feet sideways
You felt someone jump onto your back and you saw it to be chigiri "Chigiri!?" You yelled confused "you beat the best y/n!" He announced happily and you smiled sheepishly You saw rin standing at the doorway of the gym- both him and nagi were waiting for you..
Rin only nodded before smiling at you and leaving, it was a simple gesture for congratulating but you still appreciated it the same amount as you did the others-
You quickly turned towards nagi who was standing with his hands in his pockets, looking bored out of his mind
Your gaze softened and you ran up to him, practically pouncing onto him like a wild animal "Seishiro, I beat her! I beat the best!" You said with a big toothy smile
Nagi wraps his arms around you to return the hug, you placed your cheek on his shoulder and savoured the moment. "Let's keep this a secret between us too yeah?" You said and he nodded "what?" "You were the only one on my mind while I was playing, I won for you" nagi's mouth fell agape and his hold around you tightened
"Thank you, you did amazing" he complimented, making your cheeks go rosy.
"Y/n!" Kurina called out
You felt the fatigue getting to you, you were about to fall asleep like a log in nagi's hug. "Y/n" he spoke, his lips brushing against your neck
"I... I looked at you the whole time. Not really because you told me to but." He was whispering something to you, you tried to stay awake but it was hard.
"But it's because you looked so..."
What did you say nagi? I didn't hear you.. I'm too tired, and I'm gonna eat so good when I get home- and maybe... you'll be the one to carry me home, like you did all those days ago.
