Moonlight filtered through the canopy above the building, casting ethereal shadows dancing across the moss-covered walls.

At night, the library was transformed into an abandoned mansion located deep within the heart of the city, obscured by centuries-old trees and veiled in perpetual twilight.

Down the cavernous hallway in the library, the atmosphere was enveloped by an eerie stillness, broken only by the faint rustle of bat wings and the occasional drip of moisture echoing through the damp air.

"Do you think he will come?" Ramil asked. He was seated at the head of the table, located at the center of the chamber, a grand throne of the great obsidian, adorned with crimson velvet cushions stained with the memories of centuries past. Ramil was the oldest and fiercest amongst all vampires in Bangkok.

"Are you scared?" Jet asked. Dressed in his full butler attire, made entirely of black he walked to their leader's corner. He was holding an ancient bottle of red wine. He filled the golden with wine more crimson than blood.

Ramil rolled his eyes as he grabbed the cup. His sharp black fingers nails grazed the rough surface giving off a clinking sound. He played mid way, "and where are the others? Do I have to remind them how important this is to me?"

He drank the wine as if his life depended on it. The liquid left red stains on his thin lips.

Jet glanced at the wrist watch in his left hand. "They will be here in a moment."

Strewn about the room were ornate candelabras and chandelier flickering with ghostly flames, casting a dim glow upon the vaulted ceilings adorned with intricate carvings depicting scenes of darkness and despair - similar to Ramil's life.

Jet went about setting the table with delicacies, ranging from fried chicken, beef roast, boiled blood and turkey.

Just then two young men breezed into the chamber. Ramil was unfazed. Twenty minutes had already gone by and they dare walk in like nothing mattered.

"Well well well... Already started the party?" Ciar said. He tapped Ramil on his shoulder. Then he pulled the seat next on his right.

"You're late." Ramil said.

"Come on, it's just five minutes late..."

"Twenty minutes..." Ramil said more accurately. He would sacrifice anything for his friends but he doubted if they would do the same for him.

"Well, he is not here yet so it doesn't count." Ciar said, he picked his cup beckoned on Jet to fill it.

Ramil inhaled. He hated that this was happening again. It had been how many years now, four hundred, four hundred and fifty? He lost count already but he was hopeful.

Hopeful that this time, things will be different. He will be free to roam the earth once again instead getting stuck in this library for another five hundred years.

"I think this is a waste of time. That human is not going to show up," Ciar said as a matter of fact.

"I bet he doesn't know what he is signing up for," Mekhin said. He was the youngest and smartest of the three.

To Ramil's surprise, his two friends laughed. He was this close to flipping the table but he maintained his calm. "This is not what I expected from you Ciar." He turned to Mekhin. "And you Mekhin. You dare mock me?"

Mekhin leaned back. He almost chokes on his drink. "Sorry I was only joking around."

Interesting. Ramil turned to Ciar.
"Well, I'm a busy man. I won't continue to waste my time on..."

Ramil slammed his hand on the mahogany table and stood up abruptly. "Then fuckin leave!"

Ciar gasped. He had always been jealous of Ramil. Where Ciar had to work his butt off, Ramil had things presented to him on a platter. What was that again? He found his human that will grant his life's wishlist and probably set him free? Joke of the century.

"I'm only here for one reason," Ciar said. "Just because I haven't found my own human doesn't mean you should disrespect me."

"Ciar stop, not everytime we get to meet it turns chaotic can we be civilised for once..." Mekhin said.

"Well tell that to Ramil. Son of a..."

Ramil's eyes darkened. He'd heard what Ciar said even before he opened his mouth, but he wanted him to repeat it again out loud. "What did you say?" He questioned covering the distance between him and Ciar. He had enough already.

Jet jumped in the middle of the two. "Okay, that's enough..."

"What are you going to do Ramil, fight me?"

Jet managed to pull Ciar away. "Stop man..."

Ciar continued to rant. "You're delusional, you think anyone cares about you?"

Just in time a soft voice broke the tension.

"Ramil."

The voice echoed from the outside world, stopping everyone in the room. It couldn't be. They listened again.

"Ramil?"

In a second, the library fell silent. Ciar raised his eyebrows surprised. He looked away in shame.

Ramil recognized the voice. He gave Ciar a wicked smirk as he rushed towards the hallway and followed the direction of the voice.

Ramil stopped as soon ashe saw Punn wandering aimlessly at the other end of the hallway. For a second, his heart almost stopped beating.

He came. His human came.

He hurried towards Punn and gave him a back hug.

Punn shivered as he whirled around. "Gosh, you scared me."

"You came?"

Punn was confused. "Yes. I was invited to..." He showed Ramil the invitation card.

Ramil pulled Punn to a hug before he could complete his sentence. "You have no idea how long I waited for this day." Ramil whispered in to Punn's hair.

He'd had his doubt before, but he was convinced now. Punn was the human for him and he was never going to let him go.

Not in a thousand years.
