Drews Pov:

It was the day of my fathers trial, where it would be decided custody of me, and possession of multiple other things. This also meant that whichever side won, one side being father and the other being my Mom, would get a restraining order against each other.

This could be extremely good, or extremely bad. You see, if Carol wins, she would have custody of me, David, the house, the business (because father shares half the business with her) and we would get a restraining order.

I had gotten out of bed this morning and put on my best suit. Dark blue dress pants with a white dress shirt, blue tie, and a matching blue overcoat. My hair slicked back with gel and teeth shining a pearly white.

There on my nightstand I grabbed a charm Jake had given me last year on my birthday for good luck. It was a cat keychain, a siamese cat which is my favourite kind. The cat dangled from a silver chain, I shoved the charm into my pocket and grabbed my phone.

Multiple messages appeared from lots of my friends, wishing me good luck. I was thankful I had them, and hopefully this goes well. I rush down the stairs, noticing that at this rate we would be late, which is not a good look.

"Hurry up slow poke!" Mom called from the bright red car, its engine roaring. I open the passenger door and plop down with a thud onto the leather seat.

"Lets do this thing." I say sternly, buckling myself in.

"Right."

The first part of the trial went by extremely slowly, it felt like hours were passing by, when in reality it had only been about 30 minutes. I had to make a few statements, in which I followed my flashcards.

Come on...we got this, I thought. Carol had made some amazing statements. Almost gave me inspiration to be a lawyer myself.

Father had some strong fucking lawyers, but Carol was the best here. She was exemplary at her job for a reason, we are going to win for sure. Father, your rain of terror is over.

We...we won.

That's right, me and Carol won. My father finally got the karma he deserved.

We get the house, custody of me and my brother, the business, all the items in the house. All the hag got was a restraining order, a charge of five million, and ten fucking years in prison.

This was really good, one of the best things to ever happen to me ever. Besides meeting Jake of course.

Me and Carol celebrated and we invited Henry, Liam, Jake, Lia, Sean and Milly. I had gotten close with Milly and Sean recently, we had hung out at school and in periods we shared together that I didn't have with anyone else. Sometimes we all even hung out together after school.

We all rode in our limo to a fancy sushi place for all of us to enjoy. Carol sat at the end of the table next to me, and I was quite close to my pretty boy with the blonde peach fade hair. His laugh and smile filled up the private room. He was fairly dressed up too, wearing a suit himself, probably because he knew we'd win and go somewhere fancy to celebrate.

Classic Jake.

Beside him was Lia across from Henry and Liam, who looked pretty cozy together if I do say myself, they looked cute together either way. But they both looked liked doofus's either way too.

Sean and Milly chatted with my Mom about music careers and how their performance went. Dinner ended nicely, quicker than I wanted, but I was happy with it.

Mom offered driving them all home, while I stayed back and wanted to speak to Jake. About you know what.

We went to the beach, I told him I wanted to go somewhere nice. I sat down on a wooden bench. Wind making my hair move in all direction despite the hair gel from earlier. The smell of the ocean salts filling my nostrils. It was a cultivating feeling, made everything go away. Except for the undying love I felt for the boy next to me.

"It's nice out," I say, looking towards the horizon. The sun had just begun to set, making the sky light up with colours.

Reds, oranges, pink clouds and bright sun. The sky behind us darkening and a hint of blue, like a sea of ink. I took it all in, I felt as though stuck in a dream. It didn't feel real whatsoever.

I now turn towards the boy beside me. Somehow his senses picked up on my staring and he turned his entire body toward me as well, looking deep in my eyes.

His soft curls flowed with the wind, glinting off light here and there. They curled over his forehead and the tips of his ears. The bottom half of his head was shaved down equally all the way around. His skin pale and soft, a few moles dotting his hands and arms. The boys familiar necklace I had given him was hung across his neck, adam's apple visible. I could get lost in his cocoa powder eyes of his, gold flecks inside them, his pupil enlarging with each passing moment. His upturned hooked nose looked almost as sharp as his jawline, he gave me a smile. On both sides of his both popped out the cutest looking dimples and his lips peel back in an upturned line.

"You look pretty..." I mumble, oh shit, DID I SAY THAT OUT LOUD?!!?!

Crap crap crap crap, "what'd you say?" the boy in front of me wondered, looking like a happy but very confused golden retriever.

Jake, the one boy I've ever loved. My heart had always been set on you. There's no one else who lights up a room like you do, no one else who makes me smile like you do, no one else I want to be with.

"Hey Jake,"

"Yeah?"

"Remember when you...kissed me?" I said, now looking down at my sweating hands that were keeping my leg from bouncing up and down rapidly. I shielded my flustered face from the beautiful boy as well.

"Uh yea...I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that." He shouldn't have? Was it mistake? Maybe I'm just a bad kisser.

"It's ok, we're friends either way," I force a laugh, I look back up towards him, his smile dropping.

"That's not what I meant, I meant I shouldn't have done it out of the blue without your consent." I make an 'o' shape with my mouth, suddenly feeling ashamed like the fool I am. Always jumping to conclusions Drew.

His hands reach mine and hold them softly, the grip felt nice, his warm hands against my cold ones.

"Drew, I uhm...wanted to tell you this for a while now but..." he clears his throat, was this is? Was he asking me out? Is life finally turning around, I really hope it is. I look into his deep brown eyes, I know what I'm going to reply back, I'm ready. Ready for anything.

A ring comes from my pocket, I slip a hand out of his and grab my phone, holding it up to my ear.

Ready for anything? That was lie, because I wasn't ready for that call.
