"Our sister's name was Light Storm," Sky Quake told Smokescreen. "Our father's name was Sky Wing. We were named after him, and our sister was named after our mother, Thunderstorm. And she was forged only seven years before the war broke out." Sky Quake smiled at the memory of his little sis. "She was a fighter even before the war. But her passion was art and making anyone smile." He chuckled, "Even if that cybertronian was our enemy."
"Must be nice to have a twin and a younger sibling," Smokescreen sighed.
"What do you mean?" Sky Quake turned his head to him.
"I was an only sparkling. And I lost my parents when I was only eleven!" Smokescreen pulled his legs to his chest. "I have no clue what happened to them. I ... miss them. So ... much."
"I'm so sorry," Sky Quake placed his hand on the youngling's shoulder. "What were their names?" he asked.
"My mother's name was Frostline," he wiped his tears before he continued, "my father's was Bladerunner. I got my father's looks and my mother's color scheme. ... I ... I wish that I died with them!"
"Me and Dreadwing knows what that feels like," Sky Quake told him. "When we first lost our father," he closed his eyes and sighed, "we didn't want to live anymore. But." Smokescreen turn his face to him. "We had something to live for. Our mother and sister. Light Storm never got the chance to meet our father. But we would tell her stories about him. And our mother would make sure we weren't making any parts up." He chuckled to his last sentence.
"What happened to your mother and sister?" Smokescreen asked.
Sky Quake's smile faded. "Our mother ... she ..." Tears of his own began to fall. "She died right in front of all of us!" Smokescreen's eyes still streamed, but they were only for him anymore. "In her last moments ... we promise to take of Light Storm no matter what. And we ... we failed her!" Smokescreen looked upon him with the feeling of where it was going. "Light Storm was only on patrol with her friends and ..." Breaking into more tears he exclaimed, "WE FOUND THEM ALL DEAD!" Sky Quake sobbed hard.
His twin and him has suffered more than I have! If only I could change that without reveling what I am. Smokescreen began to feel a pain in his spark. He knew it was for decepticon twins. He crawled to Sky Quake's side and hugged him. He hugged back. "I so ... sorry. That you've suffered so much more than me," Smokescreen choked. Both shedding tears for one another. A loud bang caused them to whip their heads to the cell door. Why was there a dent?
"MOVE IT!" Arrow Strike shouted. A hissing sound echoed as acid opened a hole in the metal.
"Arrow Strike!" Smokescreen exclaimed in happiness.
"Smokescreen, are –" Confusion spread across the three Autobots' faces.
"What did we miss?" Tinker asked seeing both Sky Quake and Smokescreen's tearful faces.
"Nothing," Smokescreen told them as he wiped the water from his eyes. "Just learning each other's backstory." The Autobots knew he wouldn't tell anyone that he was a mysticbot, but what was he talking about? "Umm, Sky Quake?" Smokescreen turned to the decepticon twin.
"It's alright," Sky Quake told him. "You'll be safer with them than here." They both stood up and Smokescreen trotted over to his fellow autobots. "Smokescreen," Sky Quake called out and Smokescreen turned to face him. "Take care of yourself."
Smokescreen smiled. "You too, and ..." his smiled faded. "I'm sorry you and Dreadwing suffered more than me."
"It's part of war and life," Sky Quake told him. "You lose the ones you care about. All you can do is honor their memory." Smokescreen smiled and he left with his companions.
