As Eleanor gets off of her old rickety school bus she feels a downpour of cold drops on her skin, she quickly takes the tie out of her hair, pulls out her skateboard and rushes home.
"Great, Just amazing!" She says with fake enthusiasm "Not only was today a shitty day, but now it's raining!" She says with a cold laugh. "How could today get worse?" She mutters as she fumbles with her keys to unlock her home's old door (that she always has trouble with).
As she swings open the creaking door she sees her mom and dad standing in front of the sofa with sad pitiful looks. She lets out a dramatically long sigh that lasts from her waking from the door and throwing her book bag on the floor to flopping face first on the couch. What's the great news?" she asks with annoyance and sarcasm that's drowned out by her words being muffled.
"Well sweetie... we're going to have to move" her mom says hesitantly, as if her daughter will explode at the slightest
inconvenience. "Really!" she jumps up with excitement! "we're moving out of this old house!" (Eleanor loves this house but anyplace that has been around since 1950 cannot be structurally stable) she asks with genuine excitement as she runs to her mom.
"No... to Atlanta, Georgia"
Mean Girls- Sophomore Year
Here she is standing in front of Susan Peaks High with zero excitement or happiness. She's surrounded by people happily chatting about their weekends as she stands there. Alone.
This was nothing like the 80s movies she watched, but kinda like those cw shows... Anyway she cocked her head from left to right attempting to read her schedule which was drenched from a bus splashing water on it earlier. She lets out a sigh
"We'll this is an amazing start to a day" she says while rolling her eyes.
Apparently there was a welcome committee that was supposed to show her around the school at exactly 8:15 in the gym. She pulled out her (incredibly cracked) phone and checked the time.
It was 8:09.
The one thing she does know about this school is that the gym is all the way on the other side of the campus because the bus lot is behind it. She passed that when her mom dropped her off for school.
It's like 90 degrees outside and she has less than 10 minutes to get to the opposite side of the school. She better start running.
She finally gets there after (what feels like) an eternity of running. She takes a second, closes her eyes and hunches over hands on her knees so she can catch her breath.
"Wow, there was no rush new girl, we were waiting on you after all" Some girl with tan skin, dark brown hair put in a ponytail, in a with a big navy blue bow and long sleeve top with white sweatpants and navy blue platform shoes exclaims.
She looks up to see two people who look identical in front of her (they're definitely twins). She stands a little straighter and stuffs her hands in her jacket pocket.
"I'm Addison!" she adds "we're the welcome committee!" She says while clapping her hands together (she's totally a cheerleader)
"Well" the other guy who lacks her tan but isn't pale, his hair is dark down, messy and mostly covering his face, wearing a big oversized black scream shirt, big black jeans and white shoes, starts to mutter "I'm not part of the welcome committee" he says with faux excitement mimicking his sisters(?) tone "I just come with her to skip cla-", Addison elbows him "He's Aiden and he's totally apart of the welcome committee!" she insists.
"Okay then" Eleanor says (everything about these two were overwhelming). "I'm Eleanor, but all of my friends call me Elle, or Ella" she murmurs.
"Alright then Elle! Let's get our tour on!" Addison exclaims.
