My primary purpose for writing this story was to spread awareness of the struggles of homeless people and children of the like. The original idea started off as a short-story just 30 pages long and didn't really focus on the overall idea of the story, so I kept writing, improving, adding depth onto the story until I got this. Not to mention that I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. I did of course draw inspiration from real or similar events, but the story in its entirety is fictional.
The secondary reason I wrote this story was to encourage people who may have experienced homelessness or any other traumatic event to share their stories. They deserve to be told, and anyone holding it in deserves closure. I want to do my best to inspire others to tell their stories, their struggles if they feel people should know.
My tertiary reason for writing this is simply for entertainment. I want to write something that will pull the reader from real life and immerse them in something they would like to experience from someone else's eyes. Also, lots of stories don't exist that I'd like to read myself, so I write them myself.
