The walk to the front gate was pure torture, my mother wouldn't let my past slip ups go. This latest mistake got me expelled from my previous school and dumped here. My mother keeps spouting about how I should control my anger, that I was different than the other wolves, and as such should "help others in my position". How am I supposed to help other wolves my age when I can't even help myself?
Me and my family belong to a supernatural group of "Monsters" called Animagus Wolves think werewolves but if they could transform at any given time.
The supernatural beings the hume world rejects experience growth just the same as any hume; females still bleed and males still tend to think with their other head. Yet, there are some differences. Instead of changing physically for the most part, we experience a surge in magic.
This makes the Dragons and Wolves susceptible to extreme anger and hostility, which in turn, also makes us blackout and transform. The Vampires become hungrier, the Gargoyles need to eat more spirits to maintain their fleshy appearance, and the Witches have trouble steadying their magic. Yeah, I don't think I need to explain any further why I ended up on the doorstep of the most "prestigious" Highschool for Creatures like me.
The gate to the school was so huge, I couldn't help feeling slightly intimidated. The pillars on either side of the gate stood tall and at the very top stood a single stone lion. Both lions had their jaws open, almost as if Medusa herself froze them mid-roar. The gate was made entirely of black silver with the schools emblem in the center.
Mother pressed a button on the side of one of the large stone pillars. There was a buzzing noise before the gate slid open. As we were walking through I saw a man walking toward us. My father seemed to spot him too, and as soon as he reached us, the man proceeded to try and shake our hands. I say 'try' because I refused to give him my hand to shake.
A bell in the distance caught my attention and I could see a lot of students leaving the large main building I assumed to be the school itself and headed toward two buildings that sat on either side of the school. They were made almost entirely out of brick. They were both eerily similar, almost as if someone had copied and pasted the buildings in a way to make them face each other. Both buildings had about 4 to 5 floors each, all with several balconies poking out of the walls with windows on either side of the glass doors. Some were decorated with various plants while others were almost completely barren.
One girl in particular caught my eye from the crowd of students. Instead of heading toward what I assumed to be dorms, she headed directly toward us.
"This is my daughter, Flame" the man explained, "We are Animagus Dragons, so like you, Luna, we experience a lot of the same emotions."
"So do monkeys, but I don't see any here, do you?" I shot back at him, I was already irritated from my mother's long lecture and was so done with today.
The man looked shocked and confused about what I just said, his daughter on the other hand looked amused. My mother was mortified, opting to apologize for my behavior than pay any attention to me. My dad was busy filling in documents on his phone to apply for a job since he got fired from his last one. Taking this God given opportunity to escape I decided to wander around for a bit. I took off down the massive brick pathway up to the school before my parents could object.
I ran until I couldn't see my parents or the man and his daughter anymore, but when I turned back around Flame was standing about 7 inches away from me.
"Holy shit! Do you always do this?" I asked.
"Do what?" she questioned innocently.
I rolled my eyes in response to her question and walked around her, I wanted to get a layout of this hell hole before I spent a near eternity here. Flame must have seen the look on my face. The look of boredom, fatigue, and irritation I could only get from the hour long lectures I get from my mother. Looking back, I probably shouldn't have run off because that would have most definitely earned me another lecture from my mother when I get back home.
Looking around I noticed that most of the boys in school were headed to the building to my left and most of the girls were headed to the one on the right. Those would be the dorms, there was also a large field with a courtyard that I could partially see behind the main school building in front of me. The school itself seemed more like a prison the closer I got. Everything seemed so bland, the only saving grace were the sad little plants in the windows.
"I was assigned to give you a tour of the campus by my father, so I suppose now would be a great time to do so, follow me." Flame said.
"Girls dorms on the right, boys on the left, main building, courtyard out back, I can find my way around, I just need my dorm room number and I'll show myself around thanks." I deadpanned.
"I don't have anything else to do, so showing you around is about the only form of entertainment I have." She pouted.
Damn, I really thought this day could only get better, but if I have to entertain the principals daughter because there's nothing to do, my life is gonna be a living nightmare here. I sighed and followed her around while she bounded cheerfully from one room to the next in the main building, showing me where my classes are and explaining which room was taught by what teacher.
We ended up bumping into someone from my old school, his face healed up nicely I might add. He still had a couple open wounds that couldn't heal properly do to the placement of said wounds, but the others healed into scars. He looks a little more terrifying than he used to, but he was also really weak.
"We meet again, how's your face doing?" I asked, genuinely curious as to how he was doing.
"What the hell are you doing here? I thought they would put you away, not put everyone here in danger!" He cried, obviously still terrified of me after I nearly killed him.
"Would you calm down, I don't plan on finishing the job if that's what you're worried about." I joked.
Flame looked from me to Terry, the kid with the scars, trying to follow along with our conversation, if you could call it that. After trying and failing to comprehend our discussion she excused us and continued with the tour, though she kept looking back at me. I suspected she wanted to ask how me and Terry knew one another, but she didn't ask. We finished up the tour by heading to the dorms where she showed me my room. Her room was just a couple doors down the hall from mine, so if I needed anything then I could just knock on her door and ask.
The dorm room was spacious enough with a living room, a kitchen and 2 bedrooms. The living room had a couch situated in the center of the room with a coffee table between it and the TV. My roommate was nice, she introduced herself as May and showed me which room was mine.
My stuff was already in my room when I got there. My room was only big enough for a bed, a wardrobe, and a desk for homework, there was a door in the corner of my room that led to a bathroom as well. On top of my things was a note from my parents, I took the letter and sat on my bed, already feeling drowsy and ready for some much needed sleep.
Dear Luna,
Me and your father need to leave so we can catch our flight back home.
Maybe this school can tame your temper, and maybe you can find someone special there.
We hate to say goodbye, but we'll be there for special events that they host there every few months.
Try to have a good time, and please stay out of trouble. With love, mom and dad
P.s. You're getting an earful about running off like that when we come back, and that's a promise!
Yep, I called it.
