On an early March morning, the students of Hogwarts sat eating their breakfasts. The sun melted through the windows, onto the groggy, hungry kids below. Rows if benches lay decorated with various breakfast foods, toast, eggs, waffles, the list was endless. It delighted the eager bunches of teenagers freshly out of bed.

On one end of the hall was Y/N Snape, already sat and eating, as her friends pulled out chairs beside her. Her robes were freshly cleaned and ironed, her hair was tied back neatly and she had a poised look about her. There is a certain standard to be held when you happen to be the child of a teacher. A certain tidiness that was expected, not that being the spawn of a teacher had anything to do with her elegance. It was a character that not only her, but her friends also had. Her friends, Draco Malfoy, Pansy Parkinson and Blaise Zabini. Many would describe the group as, obnoxious, entitled, bitter, callous. Or to put it more plainly, big bullies.

However, on the opposite side of the hall sat a more popular, more charming, group of friends. Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron weasley. Along with being more well liked and respected, this group of friends was more laid back. Not as 'stuck up' as Draco's gang, some would say. Although Hermione also had that certain elegance to her, that was washed out by the sloppy, boyishness of her two best friends. While she was in her uniform, her wild brunette hair tied back as well as it could be, Ron and Harry were still in there pajamas, their hair not even having been brushed.

Conversation slowly filled the hall as more students dragged themselves to their seats to eat. Both groups were involved in there own conversations, little did they know that they were all talking about eachother. Well, more like Harry and Draco were bitching about eachother with their friends absentmindedly chiming in, with the odd "Yeah" and "Totally mate". The obsession ran deep, starting in first year and only growing from there. Constant shit talking, prank planning and glaring. Alot of glaring. Today was no different, but this time it was mostly on Ron's part. Probably because Harry was too busy moaning to, an utterly disinterested, Hermione about the "un-survivable and soul destroying" potions lesson he has today where he has to sit next to "that insufferable prick" for an hour.

If looks could kill Y/N would have been dead and buried by now. The pure scowl Ron was giving her was sure to burn eye shaped holes in her head any moment now. He was expecting her head to explode that very moment with how hard he was staring her down. What he wasn't expecting, was her to look back at him, time seemed to freeze in that moment, it was as if she had caught him in the middle of some despicable deed. Until she scowled back at him, with an absolutely appalled look on her picturesque face. Ron couldn't help feel insulted, he didnt know what it was about her that just ticked him off. Maybe it was just out of companionship, his best friend hated her best friend so it was only natural for them to hate eachother too, right? Or perhaps he was just a stick of dynamite, and she was the match.

"Y/N? Y/N! Were you even listening to anything I was just saying!?" Draco hissed, knocking Y/N out of her trance. She had been so indulged in giving Ron her best, judgemental, heinous glare, that she hadn't been listening to Draco who, unsurprisingly, had been bellyaching about the same thing Harry was.
"No I wasn't listening, but I bet you were just bitching about Potter again." She replied. Draco rolled his eyes with a huff and went silent.

Y/N was about to look back over at the Gryffindor table before Pansy interjected, "What are you even looking at anyway?" Pansy rotated herself around, following Y/N's line of sight, to find herself looking at the pale, freckled complection of a Weasley, currently scoffing down an over cooked sausage barm. Pansy looked disgusted "Why the hell are you looking at the weasel?"
Y/N exhaled as if she were trying to knock over the goblet of water infront of her. "Pansy shut up. He was giving me the evils before so I gave him a snarl he wouldn't forget." Pansy went quiet and turned back towards Draco and began to entertain his dreadful whining about Harry Potter again. Y/N smirked into her goblet and went back to her breakfast.
