The Great Hall buzzed with the chatter of students as they eagerly awaited the sorting ceremony. You, a transfer student from another wizarding school, nervously adjusted your robes, feeling the weight of curious gazes on you. It wasn't easy being the new kid, especially at Hogwarts.
As Professor McGonagall called out the names, you listened intently, trying to remember the houses and faces of your new classmates. When the last name was called, you held your breath, waiting for your turn.
"Y/L/N, Y/N," Professor McGonagall announced.
You stepped forward, heart pounding, and the Sorting Hat was placed on your head. After what felt like an eternity, the hat shouted, "Slytherin!"
Relief flooded through you as you took your place at the Slytherin table, welcomed by your new housemates. But amidst the sea of green and silver, one figure caught your eye—Draco Malfoy.
His platinum blond hair gleamed under the enchanted ceiling, and his grey eyes regarded you with a mixture of curiosity and skepticism. You couldn't help but feel a pang of nervousness at his intense stare.
Throughout the feast, you couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. Every time you glanced in Draco's direction, you found him looking back at you. It was unnerving, to say the least.
After the feast, as the students began to disperse, you found yourself face to face with Draco near the entrance to the common room.
"Y/N, right?" he said, his voice cool and composed.
"Yeah, that's me," you replied, trying to keep your voice steady despite the fluttering in your stomach.
"I'm Draco Malfoy," he said, extending his hand.
You shook it, feeling a jolt of electricity at the contact. "Nice to meet you."
Draco's lips curved into a smirk. "I must admit, I wasn't expecting someone like you to end up in Slytherin."
You raised an eyebrow, curious about his meaning. "And what's that supposed to mean?"
He shrugged nonchalantly. "Just an observation. You seem... different."
Before you could respond, a group of Slytherins approached, eager to greet the new student. Draco excused himself with a polite nod, leaving you to navigate the social dynamics of your new house alone.
As you settled into your dormitory that night, thoughts of Draco Malfoy swirled in your mind. There was something about him that intrigued you, despite his aloof demeanor. Little did you know, your fates were about to become entangled in ways you never imagined.
