It's around 6 PM when I arrive at the Evergreen campus. My heart beats with anticipation, I'm about to start a new period of my life in a new city. I stood for a moment, taking in the sights and sounds of her new home for the next few years.
If you looked at me navigating through the sea of students, you would think I know my way around how I'm walking with my head held high. But the truth is I have no idea and hate people interactions so I will just keep walking with three suitcases like I'm the shit.
After an hour of walking around, I'm in front of my dorm room door. I enter it and a girl with light blonde hair walks out of a room to greet me. The girl introduced herself as Olivia, one of Aurora's new roommates.
"Hii! I'm Olivia!" she says excitedly
"Hello! I'm Aurora!" I say
As I unpacked her belongings, Olivia helped me settle in, offering advice and sharing anecdotes about university life and the other two girls who are going to room with us. The room quickly filled with the sound of our laughter and conversation, easing any lingering nerves I had about starting this new chapter.
I can't help but feel grateful for this unexpected friendship that had already begun to blossom.

It's 5 in the morning when I wake up. I put on some exercise clothes grab a banana and I'm out of the door.
The gym campus is on the opposite side of the campus from our dorms so when I arrive I go straight to the weight section. I like to come to the gym this early so no one is here. As this thought leaves my head a guy comes in.
I check him out from the corner of my eye while I continue my routine.
He is tall, like very tall, has light brown hair, he looks very fit in the T-shirt that he has that hugs all the right places of his arms and torso. And not to talk about his gray sweatpants, who brings gray sweatpants to the gym. My eyes go a little lower and stop at that area that looks heavy if you know what I mean.
As I do my exercises my head starts to wonder about this afternoon. I'm going to the hockey team tryouts, I talked to the head of the team and he said it was okay for me to go. I know my chances are slim but I love hockey and would do anything to be able to play it. Like being part of a team full of boys.
We are both minding our business when he clears his throat "Sorry to interrupt, but can you spot me? My buddy stood me up!" he says as he scratches his neck
"Yeah, no problem!" I say getting up and following him
He stops at a weight machine and before getting into position he extends his hand towards me "Coleman" I grab his hand "Aurora!" he nods and moves to the bar.
I set myself behind him and he starts, as he does the repetitions I can't help but laugh. He puts the bar back down and looks at me "What?"
"I just saw the amount of weight you are lifting and sorry to tell you but I will no help if you really need it" I shrug and he laughs
"I always ask for a spotter, it's just so my head thinks nothing will happen if my arms fail me!"
He asked me if I wanted to do some weight squats so that he would spot me and I agreed. In the middle of my set, he asks "Are you new here?"
"I am!"
"Figured. You don't have the body of someone that just started training and I never saw you around the gym." I blush at his statement.
I'm now at the dorm eating my lunch with Olivia.
"So what are your plans for today?" she asks
"I'm going to the hockey team tryouts," I mumble
She looks at me wide-eyed "That's so cool! My brother was part of the team last year and hopefully this year too."
"What position?" I ask, hockey is probably the only thing that has me talking
"Goolie! Its name is Grayson." I nod
At around 4 I make my way to the arena, as I approach the door I take a deep breath and open it.
