Chapter 1 - Just Perfect

"I don’t see what you see in him.” My best friend Ellie said to me quite bluntly.

“WHAT!!! He is like the cutest, kindest, cutest boy ever!” I whispered but screamed back at her.

“Yea yea you tell me every day but that doesn’t mean that he is.” She said in a really moany voice.

“He is so cute and he does have a name you know.” I said quite quirkily.

“Ok well then Matt isn’t the same to everyone else like he is to you.” She said sarcastically

“I know but Ellie you have had 29 boyfriends in the past 2 years and I have had none!” I yelled at her “You think your little miss perfect but you’re not!” I screamed even harder this time, “So stop acting like you are and I know I’m not perfect either but I can have a crush on whoever I want so stop butting into my business if all your going to do is insult me!” I screamed at the top of my lungs and this time my mum came running up. She stood in the door and I ran into her arms and cried. She knew who I had a crush – matt – so she understood. She had heard the whole conversation and I knew that because she gave Ellie a death glare for hurting her baby.

Ellie stood up and stormed out the room like she was yet  again ‘little miss perfect’ and that was one thing I hated her for. I watched her leave then shoved my head into my mums stomache and cried even harder my mum was always there for me and I loved her so much.  “Jemma, Ellie isn’t worth it, she is just gealous that you are really pretty.” She said so softly. “but mum if I’m so pretty then why haven’t I had a boyfriend.” I whispered “Because you're good enough to wait for true love. And but the looks of things you have found yours.” She smiled then left.

I dwelled on what my mum said ‘maybe now you have found it.’ I repeated those words in my head again. In the end I came to a good conclution and it was that my mum was right – like always – I had never had a crush on someone before and I had been at school for 2 years now and met so many boys but Matt just stayed in my head, his warm smile and kind eyes even though he always insulted me he did it in a kind and funny way. He always made me laugh and was always there for me.

I had a very nice sleep that night and woke up really early the next day because I had 1 day to pack until the school trip to Hawaii which was a million miles away because we were in Tiptree, Essex, England, The United Kingdom, Northern Hemisphere, Earth, The Milky way, The Galaxy. Yea yea I know a bit uneccary but I like uneccary things so ha.

Wow when you came to think of it I had a lot to pack because I was going for a week. Yay I have always wanted to go to Hawaii and I finally was YES!!!! I wasn’t going to go with Ellie after what she had done. So I decided to go with my closer better friends Remy.

She met me at my house like not even ten minutes after I asked. So I thought well she could help me so that is what we did. Once I was done like Remy I had 1 suitcase and 2 bags that we were aloud on the plane. I did pretty well considering I have a tone of clothes and shoes. I don’t really use make-up just a bit of lip-gloss and mascara but that was it. I wear no other make-up and that was pretty good.

We didn't rest until we 100% absolutely 100% ready and when we were 100% absolutely 100% ready we relaxed and went to bed because we were going to be up at 5am to get to the airport and be ready so we went to bed really early like 6ish and had a good night sleep for the next day.
