Chapter 37: Arven's Secret

After Callie passed her basic test, Katy urged our heroes to return a wallet to her dear friend, which happened to be Ash's assigned gym leader, Kofu. Right now, the gang was having a little picnic before they can continue their way to Cascarrafa.

"Marie, these sandwiches are so good!" Ash said as he was chewing a bite on his sandwich.

"Yeah! Marie can cook anything!" Shouted Callie.

Ash then turns to the egg Wally gave him, which was sitting next to him. "I can't wait for you to taste all the wonders of this world."

As they ate, Glowy, Ash's Pokemon, and the cousins' academy Pokemon were all enjoying the sweets that Callie had made them.

"Wow, they all seem to be enjoying your treats, Callie!" Said Ash.

Suddenly, a Fuecoco walks towards Glowy and the other Pokemon. It seems eager to try the treats the others were eating.

"Ah, you want some too little, fella?" Asked Callie.

"Say, haven't we seen this exact Fuecoco before?" Wondered Ash.

Then, a boy joins the gang, seeming to have followed Fuecoco. One look, and Ash recognized this trainer.

"Hey, it's you! Ash, was it?" Said the trainer.

"Yeah! Well, actually, I haven't gotten your name yet." Said Ash.

"My name is Roy. I'm currently hunting for old treasure before I take my basic test." Roy puts down his backpack and takes out an old red book. "I'm looking into old stories and research recorded on the Scarlet Book."

"The Scarlet Book? It looks a lot like the Violet Book Arven showed me."

"Both books were by an amazing explorer from 200 years ago. His name is Heath. While the Violet Book focuses more on Heath's expeditions and discoveries in Paldea, the Scarlet Book has many stories and legends that Heath was persuing. My favorite is this one! The legend of the six heroes!"

Ash was amazed at all this talk about this explorer. "Wow, Heath sounds like he was an amazing adventurer."

"Yeah! And that's why I'm treasure hunting right now. I want to be an adventurer just like him."

Just as they were talking, a large shadow flew over them. Everyone looks up and sees a giant bird figure heading towards the mountains, just ahead of them. This frightened Glowy and ended up hiding behind Callie. Before they could say anything, Arven suddenly approached them, like he was in a hurry. He then collapsed to his knees.

"Arven?!" Said Ash in shock.

"Oh, it's you guys again....." Arven said as he was catching his breath.

"Were you chasing that giant Pokemon that just flew over us?" Asked Marie.

"Yeah..... It's another Titan Pokemon..... Like the one from the canyons..... It's heading to its nest in the mountains....."

"Are you searching for another one of those Herba Mystica?" Asked Ash.

"Yes..... Can you help me..... This one might be a handful to get....."

"Sure! We don't mind helping you out again!" Callie said happily.

"I want to come too!" Shouted Roy. "A nest home to a giant powerful Pokemon, it sounds like the perfect place to look for treasure!"

"Fine with me. The more help, the better." Said Arven.

With that, our heroes start packing their picnic supplies to prepare for the trip. Soon, everyone starts making their way towards the mountains. As they left, Team Rocket had heard it all.
