ONE
"Maddie!"
Delroy Dawkins shouted as he ran to catch up to one of his best friend's, his long legs thankfully meaning that the distance was closed easily, well that and Madison had a tendency to be quite a slow walker, but not as slow at walking as his sister.
His brown curled hair bounced up and down as he ran, meaning that when he stopped beside his friend, that he had to frantically wipe at his face since he had many hairs in his eyes, nose and mouth.
"What's up, now? I was literally with you ten minutes ago!"
Madison Lam released a small whine as she noticed one of her best friends now standing beside her, having ran to catch up to her for what she deemed as no reason.
They had only just left the ice rink that they always skated at, and since she couldn't see the other two that they had gone ice skating with, she presumed that they had travelled back to the rink, most likely having forgotten something.
"Do you have Aissa's phone? She can't find it anywhere." Delroy smiled awkwardly as he watched her roll her dark eyes, her black hair now free of the bun that it had been tied in to whilst she was skating, and was instead now cascading down her back, resting halfway.
"I put it in your jacket pocket so that it wasn't left behind." Madison spoke calmly, knowing that as a group of friends that they were all rather forgetful, no matter how much they tried to deny the fact.
"Oh, right, that's great, thanks Maddie." Delroy coughed in order to clear his throat, lifting one of his arms to rub at the back of his neck awkwardly.
"This could've been a text, you know?"
"My phone is dead."
"What about Tash's phone?"
"She left it in her car but she's locked herself out of it. She got distracted by Aissa's missing phone so she didn't realise that her keys and phone were inside the car when she closed the door." Delroy laughed lightly, knowing what his sister was like and how it was not the first occurrence that it had happened.
More like the twelfth.
"You guys would genuinely be dead if it wasn't for me, you do know that right?" Madison smirked as she rolled her eyes once more, with the Chinese girl clicking on to her phone in order to call the phone of their friend Aissa, hearing it immediately from the jacket pocket of the man standing in front of her.
Delroy grabbed a hold of the phone before hanging up the call, hugging his best friend and lifting her up in the to air in the process, only to then place her back on to the ground and run off, back towards his sister and other best friend.
Madison smiled down at her feet as she shook her head from side to side, pulling her jacket tighter around her body to avoid the cold that she was feeling from the wind.
"Jeez, I love them way more than I should."
Once Madison was finally back at the place that she called home, she removed her shoes from her feet and jumped over the back of her sofa in order to sit down, clicking the TV remote in order to find the highlights of the latest formula one race that she knew that she had missed.
She had three favorites, even though she knew that she should only realistically have one, she couldn't help it.
Her ultimate favorite was a driver from her favorite team, the team of Red Bull, that of the reigning World Champion Max Verstappen, the dutchman who she had actually known for a little while and who was always fun to be around.
He sure knew how to party, that was for sure.
Her second favorite, was Lance Stroll from Aston Martin. He was kind every single time that she had met him, and rather sassy, sarcastic and blunt which she thought made Max and Lance very similar.
He was also Canadian, so that meant that she kinda had to support her home country, since she had two apartments within the country, one in Ontario and the other in Vancouver.
The third driver was Zhou Guanyu from Alfa Romeo, who was Chinese, like herself. Whilst she had been adopted and moved to Canada as a child, Zhou had been kicking ass and representing China in racing, so she felt like she had to support him, well, and he was a good driver, just in a bad car.
The Lam woman watched the television with delight as she watched how great Max had done in his car and the race, grabbing her phone in order to send a late congratulatory text message to the Dutch man.
She also sent a small text message with only emoji's in to Lance in congratulations, since he had finished in sixth position despite having broken both of his wrists, so she opted to send two waving hands emoji's, followed by a champagne bottle.
She giggled to herself as she sent the message to him.
She even sent a text message to Zhou, congratulating him on getting the fastest lap of the race, even though he was in an Alfa Romeo, resorting to only using emoji's for that message too, a timer and a champagne bottle. He had immediately responded to her message which made her smile, he was always really nice to her.
The Lam woman released a loud cackle as she recieved two responses from the other two drivers, both videos.
Lance sent her a video where he pulled a face at her before slowly flipping her off, though he seemed to struggle with that. He looked almost aggressive in the video, but in a funny way, and she knew that he would get his own back on her with his own joke.
Max, on the other hand, had sent the woman a video of himself partying, which was not a surprise. The surprise was who was also in the video with him, having not expected them to be together and yet she was incredibly happy that they were.
Max had sent her the video of his dancing and doing shots with Mick Schumacher, which had obviously surprised her. Not because they were together, because Mick quite often spent time with Max and occasionally called Max his brother, it was more that Mick was drinking and doing shots with Max that had surprised her.
But then again, he was German.
A knock on her door sounded which made the woman get up in order to answer the door, opening it up to see a familiar face staring back at her, with a takeaway in their grasp, making her stomach rumble purely at the sight of it.
"Alexander Albon, oh how you are my night in shining armor, I am starving!"
Madison Lam lunged forwards to grab a hold of the takeaway, running back in to her apartment with the Thai Formula One driver directly behind her, giving chase.
"You're supposed to share!"
