Jungwon's eyes burst open, finally awake from slumber. He looks around the room frantically, sweat dropping down his forehead, before he realizes something.
𝘞𝘢𝘪𝘵.. 𝘮𝘺 𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮?? He thinks, as he looks around his room, frantically for any sort of proof that what happened the day prior was real. He looks around, fear and worried etched onto his face, before a knock on his door ceases his panic.
He looks at the door for a few seconds in silence before finding his voice.
"C-come in..." he stutters out after swallowing the build-up of saliva in his mouth. The handle of the door jiggles and turns for a few seconds before the voice outside of Jungwon's room speaks.
"Uh.. it's locked..." The voice says from the other side. Jungwon stares at the door before nodding his head and getting up from his bed.
"..right.." Jungwon says, slowly walking towards the door, trying to keep himself upright. He approaches the door handle before his hand slowly reaches towards it and grabs it, unlocking it and slowly twisting it open. He opens the door and sees Jake standing there awkwardly.
"Uh, hey, Jungwon..." Jake says awkwardly, his feet shifting.
"Hi.." Jungwon says, trying not to sound as awkward as Jake.
A silence washes over them, but it's neither awkward nor comfortable... it's just silence...
They stand there, in silence, as if both are trying to think of something to say before Jake finally speaks.
"..Uh.. right.. Jungwon, you okay? You slept the whole day yesterday and missed breakfast and lunch..." He says, not maintaining eye contact with Jungwon for very long before he breaks it.
Jungwon stares at him, his eyes slightly widening as his grip on the door handle loosens.
𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵.. 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘐 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘣𝘰𝘵𝘩 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘧𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘩... he thinks to himself, his eyes darting from Jake to his room to even himself. Last Jungwon remembers was talking to a ghost and then passing out onto the movie room couch, so how did he get to his room? And how was the door locked from the inside if he passed out?
"...it's dinner time now... yo-you gotta eat, Jungwon..." Jake says, rather awkwardly as he fidgets with his fingers. Jake tries to convince Jungwon to come eat dinner with them, but after yesterday's dinner, he understands if Jungwon decides to not come eat, but he knows that Jungwon needs to eat something soon.
Jungwon thinks to himself, debating his options before a sudden wave of fatigue washes over him all at once.
Jungwon then nods his head before following Jake put into the hallway, being sure to close his door behind him. He walks with Jake in silence for a few minutes before they finally stop in front of the big French doors. They take a few seconds to compose themselves, letting out breaths that they didn't even know they were holding before finally pushing open the doors. They walk in, everyone staring at them, as they quietly make their way to their respective seats at the table.
"Where have you boys been?" Hwang Seo-jun says, his voice still sounding as thunderous as it did yesterday.
The boys freeze at the sound of their father's voice.
