CONNECTIONS LOST: a sonic the hedgehog au

prologue 1: break of dawn

[it was another sunny day on Mobius everyone was doing their daily routines either working, chatting with friends or helping volunteer at the restoration, all except a familiar blue hedgehog]

[BEEP BEEP a digital alarm clock goes off next to sonic who is sleeping on tails couch]

*yawn* "alright...alright I'm awake" [sonic lazily turns off the alarm clock silencing it as she get's to her feet and stretches ready for another exciting day of thwarting starline's plans]

sonic: "whew alright! get rest? check. stretch? check. visit my friends at the restoration? OOP not quite there yet but i will get it marked as checked RIGHT NOW"

ZOOM

{and just like that the blue blur rushes out the door and down the hall to greet her best friend and brother tails the fox, sonic sneaks up behind tails who is working on an invention and puts her hands over tails eyes}

sonic: "GUESS WHO?"

tails: "haha alright very funny sonic knock it off I'm working here!"

[the fox spins around in his chair to face sonic]

sonic: "heh sorry little buddy I'm just so pumped today for some reason i don't know what it is but it's got me so hyped!"

tails: "hehe i can tell, we can leave for restoration soon I'm just putting some last finishing touches on this new devices I'm working on"

sonic: "OOOooo another device from the genius tails!, what is it?"

[tails spins around in his chair again to grab his newest invention and spins around again to face sonic again]

tails: "it's a portable handheld computer!"

[tails proceeds to grab the top part of the P.H.C and opens it revealing a screen that isn't turned on yet]

sonic: "so it's basically a laptop?"

tails: "heh basically yeah but it allows me to work on my coding or look through some ideas i have while on the go!"

sonic: "interesting, well are ya done working on it yet! i wanna get out of here"

tails: "alright, alright relax just lemme put some finishing touches on it and then we can leave"

sonic: "WOO HOO"

[a few minutes eventually turns into an hour as sonic impatiently waits by the door looking at a watch on her wrist that isn't there]

sonic: "I'm watinnnnnng"

tails: "OH SHOOT heh sorry sonic i guess i got a little too invested in the P.H.C one sec!"

[tails goes to grab his backpack and sonics backpack]

tails: "also you forgot your bag"

sonic: "OH heh oops"

tails: "ok soo how do you wanna get to the restoration? the tornado or running?"
