They say Curiosity killed the cat, but here it kills you. Casscadia was a place dreamt up in the early 2000's and became a reality in 2035 when the United State's government began to fall. Washington, Oregon, and parts of Idaho and Montana added to Alaska and a huge part of Canada. At first this place was a dream, plenty of food and water, nice homes, kind people, and a strong helpful government.
In 2070 our government became a nightmare. New impossible laws came into view. Many good people were murdered without reason. Many were killed from thoughts of freedom, or even happiness. The government defended themselves saying these people were tainting the pure lives we had, few believed them. My parents were killed in 2098 shortly after having me. I wasn't told why they died, and I wasn't aloud to ask. There are laws against inquiry and curiosity that make any question against the law. Growing up we learned to only speak though statistics. No one had opinions on anything. We weren't aloud to.
I am 15. I am dangerous, I am curious. I know I am I have been my whole life, but it is my secret no one can figure out. I live in a small orphanage with 16 kids. Most of them are much younger than me. Jase is my best friend. He is loyal and kind, he was the first person I met here. He is a year older than me and he always looks after me. If were aloud to love, I would say I loved him. Not in a lovey-dovey way, but in a best friend kind of way. He is my only family.
